Topic: super-sized guests & rides

We are headed to DL for the first time in Nov., one of our party has some "size" to them (approx 250 lbs and around 5'8") to avoid any dissapointment or embarassment is there any rides that will not accomadate big people?

I'm 5'10" and weight 270. Didn't have too many problem sitting into the seat, but getting into some of the holders for packages (Indy and Space Mountain, etc) was tight. I did see one guy who had to be about 400lbs turned away from Space Mountain because they couldn't get the lap bar down.

My mom is about that size. Some rides were a bit tight but nothing she couldn't handle.

I'm 6'2" and 290 lbs. On Thunder Mountain the seats are good for sliding on the turns. otherwise have a good time.

Oooo! Oooo! I know this one....I'm 5'8 and around 260 to 265 (depending on the day) I have never had a problem with access to rides and attractions...I don't know about space Mountain though, I haven't had a chance to ride it yet...But I'll letcha know..I'm going to be there Friday and Saturday. Some hints for your friend..On rides that have lap Star Tours, Soarin, ToT, Indy....Have your friend pull the belt around and snap it before sitting down...this help a lot and one doesn't have to worry about groping the person next to them, especially if one doesn't know that person. I used to weigh a lot more...close to 400 lbs and even then, I didn't have any problems with the rides...except for Gadgets Go-Coaster...and only because I am both tall and fat. Have a fun time and don't worry about's all good.

Tom Sawyer's Island's caves, and the tree house, would be marginal.
Indy will easily accomodate.

Mandelbrot, I've never had the experience of trying to "squeeze through" anywhere at DL or DCA. I've been up the problems, through Indy, still no problems and have played many many times on TSI with my stepmonkies...hmmm still no problem.
Sorry to disappoint, but the only "squeezing experiece" I've had, you know, me being "one of you people" is trying to fit into a one-size-fits-all world. There are only a few places where I, with my family (my hubby is 5'10 and less than 200 lbs and my stepmonkies ages 9 and 12) can truly have fun together, as a family. I have great respect for DL and all the Disney Parks, for this reason. It's not a one-size-fits-all world, we are all different and Disney has really taken that in stride. So if you're ever at Disneyland and you see a brightly bedecked, tall fat chick, singing and dancing around like a fool with two equally giddy children and a slightly embarrassed hubby....that's just Ol' Wyckid...trying to enjoy being a square peg in a round hole!!

Well as much as I just hate to disappoint the mean-spirited sad little people in life, Mandelbrat. I've been in Indy, TSI, Space Mtn, BTMRR, and every other disney ride and attraction and alas, my "needs the seatbelt extender on airplanes" rear end has fit just fine. AND to make matters even worse for the little people my 6'7 linebacker size boyfriend fits WITH me...same the SAME TIME EVEN! Will wonders never cease! "Us people" have managed the impossible in you little minded folks eyes!!! Unimagineable I know, but it's a harsh world out there. Must be why stuff like that works inside Disneyland huh? :o)

"you are a sad strange little man"
Do you have nothing better to do with your time than contribute to otherwise positive posts about DL with your ever increasing negativity and mean spirited, un caring comments.
I for one don't apreciate it. You are a not nice person, in a place were nice happy people congregate and it is just killing you that we don't all know that you aren't nice.

They should be fine! I am shorter than that and weigh more than that and I have never had a problem. As posters have said, some things are a bit tight, but I have been on everything in both DCA and DL (except for the Orange Stinger & Mullholland Madness) and never had a problem!
