| smedley Thu 11/24/2005 7:22a | best stop that young lady, as I have rejoined the party.
My car is poorly, it made a nasty bang driving home last night, and they can't get the part till tomorrow, so I'm playing a waiting game to see if they can have it ready for me to go to work tomorrow night. Pah! Oh and I've just heard they're forecasting snow for the weekend, and I'm working night shifts, harrumph! |

| melekalikimaka Thu 11/24/2005 11:36a | You know, I don't really feel like pulling out all of the nice dishes and washing them. Hm, I wonder if anyone would mind eating off of paper plates. HAHAHA |

| melekalikimaka Thu 11/24/2005 4:59p | This Thanksgiving has been so weird. Usually I am really into it, very organized, on a schedule. Everything goes very smoothly and I am really into it. Not so much this year. My stupid turkey was through cooking 2 2/1 hours early. I don't know what the heck happened! I've never had this problem before. I'd blame my oven but it worked just fine on the pies last night. I'd blame Alton Brown's recipe, but I used it w/o a hitch last year. I'd blame the turkey calculator on foodtv.com but I think the timing was correct. It must just be silly old me! I feel cursed. LOL
Oh well, not every Thanksgiving can be perfect. |

| SuzieQ Thu 11/24/2005 5:31p | The good thing is, turkey will hold!
We're done eating and my house is empty! My sister-in-law's mother broke her hip last week and is in a rehab center right now. We can't let Mary have no family with her on Thanksgiving! So everyone came here at noon, we stuffed ourselves, and now her brood is over at the center having a second meal.
We're going to surprise hubby's aunt by showing up for dessert at her house. Hubby's family is all there (if they'd been here, it would have been 30 people :-0 ).
The second load is in the dishwasher, and as soon as I load it for the 3rd time we'll leave. I'm not in to dishpan hands, LOL. |

| Pixie Glitter Thu 11/24/2005 9:19p | I had to chew my entire Thanksgiving dinner on one side of my mouth due to the lingering effects of The Pistachio Incident. Still hurts a little. I need everyone to solemnly swear that if they ever see me about to eat a pistachio, they will slap it out of my hand.
That was a pretty lame whine, really. I can ordinarily do much better than that. I guess I'm too caught up in the whole being thankful thing. ;-) |
