Fri 12/2/2005 4:22p | Anyone think I would be the meanest mommy in the world if I just packed up all of the Xmas decorations and put them back in the garage? No one wants to help me do any of the decorating. The kids are making it worse by making extra messes and trying to divert my attention from getting everything done. Warner asked me 5 times in a row what hypocrit meant. Hello? Dictionary.com will have a better definition than I do!
My heart is just not in it this year.
It's weird because things are a lot different in my life this year than last. I've started taking some meds to help my moods and I find that I am reacting differently to things than in the past. I used to LIVE for holidays and for our vacations, etc. Now, they just don't give me the extreme happiness they used to, I find the work involved more tedious. But I'm happier over all, so I just don't know. I'm kind of learning new things about myself or at least, new ways to exist.
If you saw my house right now, you'd know why I'm being a total whiner! I have almost all of our decorations strewn around the room. I can't decide where to put things and I keep flitting from box to box (er...pile to pile) w/o really getting anything done.

Fri 12/2/2005 6:30p | Last night CK noticed a lump on Rusty Roo dog's neck. A really big one. Like the size of a 1/2 dollar. So I'm freaking out because a co-worker had been telling me about how her dog and two of her cats had different kinds of cancer.
I took Rusty to the vet this morning and he used a needle to extract some fluid from the lump. Guess he ended up sucking it all out cuz the lump disappeared after that.
They tested it and said it was just a bacterial infection, but he kept using the word cyst, which was freaking me out cuz I'm not sure if that's bad or REALLY REALLY BAD.
Anyway, they gave him a couple of shots and gave me some medicine for him to take over the next week. Hopefully it doesn't come back. I'm thinking he just scratched himself on something sharp in the backyard and it got infected. Hopefully no big deal and he heals up quick. I just worry about my babies! |

Fri 12/2/2005 8:42p | Well, I did drag all of the boxes back to the garage and then did a bit of cleaning. At first I felt a lot better but now I just feel like a big, fat Scrooge.
So, plan B is to only bring in one box at a time instead of ALL of them at once. |

Here's the latest installment...Warner has been really awful today, but that's over and done with (for the next few hours anyway). The very, very latest is that I went to wash my hands and the pipe in the sink was broken! I could hear water sloshing behind the pedestal. So, what do I do, turn the water on and off a few times. Yup! It's still spewing water out all over the floor. LOL
There's a teeny crack in a small pipe. Really, no big deal to fix, low cost, low effort. But COME ON!
I think God's trying to make me laugh now. Life is so absurd sometimes. |

Mon 12/5/2005 11:57a | Hey Mele, can I borrow your plumber after he fixes the sink? We have a "sink issue" in the bathroom as well. CK tried to take it apart to fix, but couldn't find the problem and now it's leaking into one of my good pots and getting everything all wet. :P
On a decorating note, CK went hog wild over the weekend and decorated the snot out of the front of the house. We're the only ones on the block who have anything more than a string or two of lights. We are the festive-est! :) Hehe, I'll take my trophy now and post a pic later, thank you thank you! :)
Thanks for asking about the Roo Monster. I *think* he's doing better. The lump seemed gone for a day, then it came back, now I think it's gone again. I think he's fighting it, so hopefully the antibiotics will help him out and finish the job.
How's your "a bit at a time" decorating going, Mele? Seems like decorating really does mess up the house. We still have boxes everywhere! (Including a giant Costco box that my animated bears came in!) |
