We went to a christmas playgroup the other day and *someone* brought a sick child and now EVERY SINGLE CHILD that was at the party is throwing up including MINE!!! try every ten minutes for the first 3 HOURS 45 minutes for the next FULL DAY...they're sleeping now...daughter is STILL throwing up. While my little one is improving he now has a fever...my problem is who the heck would bring a sick kid to a playgroup the WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS to pass around a virus?!?! who are these parents?????? I know it's going around but I would NEVER do this to another mother. I've been through HELL and back over the last 2 days...so much for baking christmas cookies with my daughter today as planned....AAAAaaaarrrhhhhhgggghh, I could just SCREAM!!! I guess the brightside is at least this didn't happen on christmas day |

I didn't get any of my Xmas shopping done today because she is home and wanted to cuddle this morning. I fell back asleep and now my chance to shop is gone. I can't take her along to buy her presents. LOL |

Wed 12/21/2005 3:25a | It's not fair! I finally went to the doctor today, as I still wasn't getting any better, and it seems I have sinusitis and a probable ear infection. He's put me on a week course of antibiotics, there went any chance I had of taking part in the Christmas spirit! Oh yeah and it still hurts, I thought doctor's were supposed to fix you, no-one told me it would take time... Harrumph... |

Wed 12/21/2005 5:51a | Oh for goodness sake! The past 24 hours have NOT been great days in the kitchen. I have screwed up so many of my recipes the past week or so. It's really starting to be a drag. First the bread, now the peppermint bark.
So, early this morning I figured I would make the bark to give as gifts. Well, the melting the chocolate went okay (although I really suck at tempering chocolate) then I melted the white chocolate. As I was spreading it on the chocolate a little bit of the dark got mixed in with the white. No biggie. Then I go to sprinkle on the crushed candy canes that I had prepared earlier in the evening and somehow water had gotten into the bag (through the tiny holes from crushing the sharp candies). Most of the candy was one big, gooey mess in the bottom of the bag. Aaargghhh. So, I had to hurry hurry to unwrap more candy canes and that took forever. I just could not get them unwrapped! So, luckily the white chocolate was still warm enough that the candies stuck but GEEZ, I'm a little afraid to try to cook anything else! |
