And I still stand by my assertion that a good troll thread is one that irks other posters so much that it just can't be ignored, that the reader feels like her or his head will simply explode if they don't respond to counter or defend the post. If it's so outrageous that no one responds, sure it's a troll post, but it's not an effective troll post. The "lure" has to be believable enough so that someone bites, otherwise it's nothing more than rotting bait on a lure.

Notice how I don't respond to trailsend's attempts to defend myself about not being in the snowball fight thread anymore. Nothing worse for a troller than being ignored . . . |
