As the holder of two PhDs in clinical psychology, it pains me to see people use language such as this in a public forum. Clearly, you are unaware of not only the pain it causes those who struggle daily with their disabilities, but also of the sheer ingnorance involved in misapplying the term "retarded." If you worked daily, as I do, with the developmentally disabled you would think twice before even consdering using such a hateful term, so loaded with negative connotations that its only effect is to create unhappiness and hatred.
Shame on you. I await your apology, not to me, but to the many, many struggling individuals who daily deal with hateful ignorance spewed by vile individuals such as yourself. |
