LP, your tired, your poor, your sick...enter these halls. We have many different comfortable rooms with relaxing atmosphere, and any posters may offer services they wish to use in helping crippled or ill posters recover.

I just got hit with some big ol' allergy/cold thang about 24 hours ago, which had a nice (said sarcastically) progression into worse and worse all night last night...cough, sore throat, hot flashes, cold chills, weakness, sore throat, sneezing, itchy/watery eyes, minor aches.

And this sucks cause my sister and brother-in-law are comin' in town tomorrow night to celebrate her birthday with me, and his from last week. I did manage to tottle to Wal-Mart last night and get birthday wrappin' paper and wrap up their stuff for 'em. But I tried and tried and tried to sleep for 4 hours and *finally* I got about 3 total I'd guess; It didn't help that I kept havin' to DRINK 'n DRINK 'n DRINK like a fish (water--not like a lush, lol) and PEE 'n PEE 'n PEE (sorry). I was supposed to meet Tara 'n Sean at The Old Spaghetti Factory tomorrow night and then have 'em over for presents, but I may just stay home and rest while they're eatin' and then have 'em over (she doesn't know any of this, it's a surprise---the birthday thang, not my ickiness, lol). I did think about takin' a taxi (it'd be my first time, wow) to meet 'em at the restaurant where I was gonna surprise her, if my taste was back to normal and I felt like spaghetti. Guess we'll see.

Today the cough's a little better, I'm gettin' some nasal and chest drainage out (I know, "eww", lol), and my body temp. seems more stable.

I get this crap about this time every year, I just don't think it's been as heavy the last couple o' years (I'm takin' some generic DayQuill stuff right now which seems to help, along with drinkin' like a fish). Anyway, here are some services I wouldn't mind rendered:

--pillows fluffed
--extra blankets when needed, removed when not
--warm, tasty soup
--constantly replenished water and Gatorade
--nice stories read to me
--favorite TV show or movie DVDs played
--soft relaxing music played
--foot msssages

Thank you :-)

TDG ~ I'm just passing along something that just might help. This is obviously allergy since you say you get it about this time every year, I'm thinking. Anyway, here is a suggestion:

Zicam
I tried Zicam after someone told me about it and I could not believe how it stopped my cold. I have never taken anything like it. I purchased the swabs. There are several different types of Zicam as well as applications (spray, swabs, etc.)
I am highly recommending this product. Please give it a try.
It comes in Zicam Allergy, or Zicam Sinus Extreme as well as many others.

Why is it that grown men always have a list like this? . . . whether they are sick or not.

Too bad you can't see it...:)

I have to apologize for teasing to hard in the above post. You're not being a baby. You sound miserable and I'm sorry. Here's your chicken soup, fresh water and, even though I don't really know you at all, I guess a little virtual foot rub wouldn't harm nothin'.
You need sleep. Hope you get some good sleep tonight.

Zicam, huh? I'm on Fexofenadine myself (off-brand of Allegra), but apparently it's not strong enough for "the coming of spring!" lol

We like bein' looked after by you nurturin' womenfolk. ;-)

Nah chicken it's all good---I knew to take your post in a laughing way, lol. I wouldn't say I'm "miserable" cause I've been miserable before---last night was "a bad night", and now I'm a little better.

And I must say cd, your soup and water are delicious, and my feet are lovin' this attention...they still ain't used to walkin' all over the men's shoe dept. (even though they only do it about 17 hours a week instead of 40!)

I'm glad you are on the mend.
And no problem about the soup and all.
You're the boss, remember?

Rest up. Hope you are able to make it out tomorrow night. If you go, take some Airborne first.

Let us know how everything turns out.

Does your sis know about LP? If she does, be sure to wish her a happy birthday from us. (I know I don't *represent* LP (lol) and that's presumptous on my part but I don't think anyone will mind.)

(off topic: how's mom?)

I was feelin' purty bad when I woke up today and went to a health clinic nearby---now I gots me an antibiotic and 2 other meds. I'm actually feelin' a bit better so far.

He wants me to stay home for 48 hours, which the lazy part of me doesn't mind, but the money part of me doesn't wanna miss work, lol. And I'm not goin' out tonight for my sister's birthday, but my brother-in-law is bringin' her over here as a surprise where I'll give 'em their presents (his b-day was last week).

And Mom's doin' really well, thanks.

I've tried all kinds of allergy meds and Advil Allergy & Sinus works the best for me (including prescription stuff). Thanks to Meth addicts, they have stopped manufacturing Advil A&S! I don't know what I am going to do now.
