How do you schedule priority seating? In person, phone, etc?

If it's before your trip, you call the Dining Line (407-WDW-DINE for Walt Disney World, 714-781-DINE for Disneyland.)
If you're staying concierge, make your arrangements through the concierge at the resort at which you are staying.
If it's during your trip, you can still call, or you can go to Guest Services at your resort or at the Parks.

When I was at WDW in June, I called the number in post 2 and was in Epcot on my cell phone walking around World Showcase and was able to get a table at the Brown Derby in MGM about three hours later. Hope that gives some insight.

You should think about when you are going. If during peek or holiday you should call before you get there. They tend to fill up fast.

Most definitely - if you're going at a busy time, your chances of getting good eating times decreases MUCH faster as it gets closer to your date.

At the Disneyland Resort, you can also push the button marked "Disney Dining" on any Resort pay phone.

Sometimes we just stop at the restaurant itself that day and make a resy for that night. Very simple at the happiest place on earth.

Yes but if you want a chracter breakfast at WDW, you had better call 407-WDW-DINE 90 days prior, cause they DO fill up and you are VERY lucky to get a spot at one if you call like the day before. I have missed out MANY times. Call ahead, its not as easy to get a space at WDW as it sounds, especially if you are going when school is out.

^^^

those calls are 180 days out now DVC-dad, and you are right on for certain restaurants or times especially in summer.

Also it is 180 days from the 1st day of your stay - don;t have to call back multiple days now.

We are booked for 10 days in June..and I did the PS's in January.

My Sister -BIL and family decided a few weeks ago to join us.

We were able to alter a little over half the PS's to make reservation for 8 instead of 4 - sometimes maybe changing the time by 15 - 20 minutes

However Chef Mickeys was booked solid and they could not get a PS same day as us.

Ditto for Boma the day we had and Cape May Breakfast on the day we had that. We were able to alter 1900 Park Faire but had to change 8:00 AM to 9:30 - eating into park time...and California Grill at 9:15 the last night ( for fireworks) was also booked solid.

On about 50% of what we could change we were able to change from table of 4 to table for 8. On the other half we had to take 2 tables for 4 each and maybe they will be near each other - maybe not.

And these alterations still had almost 90 days left to go on them
All times are Pacific Time (US)
