I have to confess, I loved the Monorail Cafe. Perhaps this has already been discussed here, but I'm new(er) and was just reminiscing about it. There was nothing better than a tall stack, bacon and a chocolate malt for dinner while nestled in a dining area decorated in 1950's kitch. Anybody else have any memories they'd like to share?

I miss it too. Some of the best meals were when my kids were young and we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in the early '80's. It was so much fun there.

The Monorail Cafe was part of the Disneyland Hotel before Downtown Disney was built. They served typical diner food and plenty of it. I have to blow a few cob webs out of my memeory, but I believe it was located a little south and west of the Hotel Monorail station.

YES! we miss it. We'd even get take out from there when we didn't want to wait for a table. We had a couple of vacations when we ended up with a sick kid in the room and their chicken noodle soup and crackers (to go) were much appreciated.

They had take-out coffee in the mornings, too--I'd rise early and get coffee for my (then) wife and myself.
It was located right by the old Disneyland Hotel's Monorail Station (thus, the name)--It was our favorite place at the hotel.

That place was as close to a greasy spoon as Disney ever got. It reminded me of a really bad Mel's rip-off crossed with Denny's.

I think we have a menu and a button from their last night in a box somewhere. We used to go there fairly often.

I used to go there for lunch when I worked in Orange. Yes, I miss it. I absolutely loved the waitresses who had been working for the park forever. I loved the real ice cream shakes which even though you can get at Ruby's, Ruby's isn't Disney. Monorail Cafe. Sigh.
