I have misplaced my copy so I had to look online. Here's one that's distinctive enough in style to narrow down the author almost imediately. Valaquenta Account of the Valar and Maiar according to the lore of the Eldar In the beginning Eru, the One, who in the Elvish toungue is named Iluvatar, made the Ainur of his thought; and they made a great Music before him.
