Does anyone know anything about a possible extension of the free dining plan? I heard that they extended it last year by a couple weeks. I am planning a trip in October and want to know if there's a chance at getting this promo.

<<Anyone been to Boma for breakfast? I wanted to try that, and 'Ohana (for the characters) and Whispering Canyon Cafe. I think Whispering Canyon Cafe basically has the same food as 'Ohana, just without any characters.>>

The Spirit is a nightly apparition, so breakfast is often slumbered through.

That said, Boma is very good for breakfast just not as good as dinner.
'Ohana on the other hand was very mediocre at best.

I stay away from Whispering Canyon because I get enough abuse from the other spirits I travel with and don't need it from the servers. I think I last dined there in 1998.

<<If I eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast, should I skip it for dinner? Do they do the fun stuff for breakfast (the antics and stuff)? >>

Abuse comes with watery scrambled eggs too!

<<Anyone know?>>

The Spirit knows things that could curl your sweet toes up in Penn.!

"Anyone been to Boma for breakfast? "

Yes. Frunch is overrated IMO. Too dang sweet to drink more than a couple of sips! Other than that, I really enjoyed our breakfast there last fall. :)

Thanks crazyformickey!

Spirit, do you suggest any other locations for breakfast aside from Boma?

Nice to see you back. LP is addicting. I left for a short while, and now that I'm back I can't help but pull it up every day.

For you, anything :-)

I am not a breakfast person, so understand that. But my two fave breakfast locations at WDW are Boatwright's at PO ... just really, really good country type meals (although I haven't eaten here in a while). My second choice would be the Trail's End Buffet at FW. Again, just a lot of good quality breakfast comfort foods in a nice country atmosphere. Both are also reasonably priced.

I'm just here for a week. But I may pop in from time to time over the summer.

It just became a very negative experience for me. But I do realize I have real friends here and I don't feel like I should deprive myself of them just because some people don't like my viewpoints and frank honest style.

How's life in PA?

Life in PA is wonderful. I'm sure you've already read in my thread "Should I upgrade" that we are building a house.

LP did become a negative place for me for a while also. But I realized that most of these people are just people in cyberspace that I most likely will never meet. And things that they say should not bother me.

I initially thought your viewpoints were negative, but after a while I realized you really do have WDW's best interests at heart, and you see more things, being a local, than most of us who only make it once a year or once every other year.

Yes, I did see that. Congrats! Must be very exciting, and maybe a bit overwhelming at the same time.

<<LP did become a negative place for me for a while also. But I realized that most of these people are just people in cyberspace that I most likely will never meet. And things that they say should not bother me. >>

Well, I intend to do my best to steer clear of the one (and only) person who I ever had a problem with here, although I'm quite sure he knows I'm back and isn't happy.

But I always viewed this place as having a wonderful community of Disney lovers, and I'm angry at myself for not just chilling for a while as I was fighting a battle I couldn't hope to win.

<<I initially thought your viewpoints were negative, but after a while I realized you really do have WDW's best interests at heart, and you see more things, being a local, than most of us who only make it once a year or once every other year.>>

Absolutely. I complain a lot about my parents ... a lot, but it doesn't mean I don't love them or am thankful they are around for me. I feel the same way about WDW. I just view th place thru realistic eyes and not a pixie-dust pink colored prism.

And I can honestly say I am very excited about Disney's future under Bob Iger. I recently attended the Disney annual shareholders meeting in Anaheim and got to talk to quite a few people, including some friends. The attitude is so much better. Everyone feels that Bob wants Disney to return to the industry leader it was. He realizes the importance of animation and theme parks in everything Disney does and how it affects the bottom line. Buying Pixar was a no-brainer that brings so much creativity into the company, which was heading out the door for the past dozen years.

I just wish someone would step up and give some much needed TLC and investment into the MK. It needs it badly. It's living off its first quarter century reputation and the whole tourist mentality. I want to see it glow again, like DL does now. anyway, enough ranting. Glad things are going well!

BTW, what is Frunch? I heard you talk about it in your trip report, but I can't say I've ever heard of it. I'm assuming it's a juice?

Deb Wills to the rescue!

Breakfast at Boma offers:

Your Choice of Orange Juice or West African Frunch (a combination of lemonade, pineapple juice, guava juice, orange juice, and papaya juice).

No wonder it's so sweet! lol
