Now, if I could only find someone having a birthday party so I could have half a piece of cake. :-) |

That's hard for me to imagine--I've been known to lick off all the frosting and throw away the cake itself. |

| ETicket34 Thu 8/10/2006 2:36p | I agree with you Alexbrook. I have been known to eat a can of prepared frosting. I know that is horrible and thankfully I haven't done that in years, but at the time it was a great way to deal with stress.
I am so proud of everyone who is posting on this thread. I believe that food is an addiction and should be treated in the same manner as alcoholism or drug use. It is an issue that many people, myself included struggle with everyday. I applaud all of the encouragement and suggestions from everyone here. |

| stagemomx3 Thu 8/10/2006 2:38p | I started my diet today, South Beach phase 1. I want to go back to school September 5th in better body shape than I am right now! Of course I also want to be thinner for our next DL trip October 31st! |

That is so true. There is actually a 12 step program for it.
I am off to my daughter's in Seattle. She has been on the natural/organic food kick for awhile now so we should be in sinc with our food if we just stay out of resturants. (Which we never do.) I am traveling with my older daughter and so I went today and bought some apples and bananas and veggies for the road. I have been pretty good this week and made it to the gym twice. (To everyone who knows they should exercise and doesn't do it; I went 3 weeks without but when I stayed with my mom I did stretches etc. when she did hers. When I got home I made a schedule to get back to the gym. I FEEL GREAT!!!!! When those endorphines kicked in I was like, "what was I thinking?!?") So do your best to get that exercise. I will be away from a computer for several days so I have to be honest with myself. I will check in on Monday to report if I stuck to my plan or got sidetracked and knowing I will have to do that will be a big help. |

| amazedncal2 Fri 8/11/2006 12:49p | Have a fun trip RAM1984 :) Thanks for the suggestion 999 :)
Well I made it through dinner just fine last night, then came the cake and I ate the whole piece >:( I was talking to my friend and admiring a scrapbook that her mom had made for her and somehow that darn cake ended up forkful by forkful in my mouth. It wasn't even that great a cake. Shoot! I should have divided it in half immediately or at least scraped off the roses....mmmm, frosting roses, mmmmm. Oh well, today is going well :)
My sister swears by the South Beach diet for a kick start. I may pick up the book next week. For now WW is the easiest way for me.
Have a great weekend everyone. Tomorrow I face going to an A's game and Sunday my nieces birthday. Both fun events but food, food, food too. |

| RAM1984 Mon 8/14/2006 11:04p | Well, I said I would check in today and am getting it in under the wire. The trip went great. My daughter said to pack a lunch and I brought home-grown chicken and spinach salad. They stopped at Dairy Queen for dinner and after looking at the menu I went out to the car, got an apple, put spinach salad in a baggie with some light dressing and ate that. The next day was harder but all I got from the free breakfast was coffee and a whole wheat bagel. At my daughter's inlaw's the table was spread with crackers, veggies and a bowl of chocolate candy. I could barely believe it but the candy did not even look good to me. I only ate veggies and cheese and a few crackers. Lunch and dinner were on the road but I did okay. Sunday I was right on except we ordered out for pizza for dinner. It was super thin crust and I only had two pieces. Today was cereal, veggie omelette and fish taco for dinner. Good day. Not getting enough exercise but will tackel that tomorrow. Hi all and thank you for being here. BTW: there has been a Cosco sized bucket of brownie bites sitting out and I have not even been tempted. Tomorrow we are going to walk to downtown Renton for the farmer's market for orgnic veggies. |

| BlueDevilSF Tue 8/15/2006 9:34a | My weight loss regimen starts today, too. I need to look emaciated for my Halloween costume: I'm going as Ann Coulter. I've already got the facial expression down pat. |
