| LacyBelle Mon 10/2/2006 10:15a | Welcome back, smedley!
Congrats to everyone on their losses so far.
As of this morning, I was at a 14 pound loss, so almost halfway to my goal of 30. In total, I'm almost at a 40 pound loss from where I was two years ago (my original goal at that time was 55-60 pounds). I got off track for a while and gained some back, but I'm back on the 'wagon' now. |

| RAM1984 Mon 10/2/2006 2:19p | Can't talk, I am too busy stuffing my face with chocolate marshmallow cookies. I am only being halfway facetious. Lots of stress since Friday night. I know that eating junk will not make my granddaughter get well any faster and will just make me feel sick. Hoping that getting on here and posting will help me stay on track. I was telling my daughter that I was craving junk food and she said, "No joke!" in language a little harsher than that. Then she told me what she ate last night. Congratulations to those staying with the "program" and continuing to lose. Hope to post another weight loss soon. |

| officerminnie Mon 10/2/2006 4:01p | RAM1984, I too am a stress-eater, so I can relate to what you're saying. I have many friends who can't eat during stressful times, but not me. I go *straight* for the food when I'm sad, angry, or anxious. (Of course, I eat when I'm happy too, so that pretty much means I eat all the time!).

| ETicket34 Mon 10/9/2006 3:54p | I started Jenny Craig. I am into my second week and all I can think of is food. I lost 3lbs the first week and have only eaten what is on the list this week and I am dying. It is strange because the food on this program is very good and there is a wide variety..even chocolate and cheese (not together), but I am still feeling deprived.
I weigh-in tomorrow night and I am afraid of what the scale will say. I don't feel any thinner and my scale at home isn't registering a loss. I am really worried that I will have a binge day if I don't see progress.

Remember that weight loss is not easy and is a long journey. 3 lbs in a week is good. The average is supposed to be 1-2 lbs per week for healthy weight loss.
It may work to think of it not as a diet, but as a lifestyle change. Even once the weight is gone, you will still need to watch what you eat, or it will creep right back up on you. You're building up good eating habits now that should last a lifetime.
Are you trying to eat every 3 hours or so? I know that sometimes helps to satisfy your hunger. If you can spread your meals (or calories) out throughout the day, you may get less cravings.
Hang in there and check back in with us regularly. We're here to support each other. |

I am happy to be able to report that I am now 5 days without any candy or desserts. And that meant turning down my MIL's pie which is hard to do. Not because it tastes good but because she gets really offended when she cooks and people don't eat. I am working on just keeping the good eating habits until I get back from DL on the 23rd. Then with that base I will cut back for weight loss. Not a lot, only 10-12lbs to go.

| RAM1984 Mon 10/9/2006 7:52p | I do not know if it is coincidence but last week I dug this out and printed it and hung it on my computer cabinet. I found it in a teacher's desk in Hawaii years ago.
10 Health Rules An Oriental sage gives the following 10 rules if health. Less meat, more vegetables Less salt, more vinegar Less sugar, more fruit Less eating, more chewing Less clothing, more bathing Less talk, more deeds Less greed, more giving Less worry, more sleep Less riding, more walking Less anger, more smiles
I see it all day and it reminds me of my goals. Just wanted to share it.
