| Kennesaw Tom Fri 1/19/2007 8:13a | I am holding right now at 209 lbs. Yesterday I decided to do some clothes shopping for some new Western Wear ( for my upcoming trip to WDW in 8 days ). A good friend of mine manages a local Western Wear store, so I went over to his store. I tried on some new jeans and we were both shocked when I actaully fit into a pair of 34" slim fit wranglers! WOW! They are snug but don't look like I'm trying to squeeze into a pair of jeans. He knows that I have been loosing weight. And we both agreed that the 34" waist were a good size for now since I plan on loosing another 25 lbs. I really don't think I want to have a 32" or 33" waist. I think that will definately make me looks unhealthy. I'm going to work on getting a "loose" fitting 34" waist first. I also bought a new belt, four shirts, a $300 pair of black cowboy boots ( the most comfortable pair of cowboy boots I have ever owned ). He also pulled out a $500 pair of black cherry cowboy boots. Boy are they nice! But that will have to hold off till after my WDW trip.
I will have to say this that looseing weight can be expensive when it comes to getting new clothes. LOL |

| melekalikimaka Fri 1/19/2007 12:56p | I'm on day 4 of no sugar or simple carbs. Usually I can quit eating sugar fairly easily but it's been harder this time. Probably because it's been almost a year since I last limited my sugar, and probably because of the holidays.
I haven't really been tempted to eat sugar, I've just been crabby and not very thrilled with the healthier foods I normally really like. I think I might just be in a snit since I have to be "good" for once.
I haven't been sleeping much so it's hard to tell if I feel any better from cutting out the junk. We'll see. LOL |

| Kennesaw Tom Sat 1/20/2007 6:45a | Today I am down to 206 lbs. In a way it doesn't surprise me since I have been holding all week at 209 lbs. So its official I have now lost 20 lbs since begining my diet. I have another 21 lbs to loose to reach my goal of 185 lbs. |

| officerminnie Sat 1/20/2007 8:22a | Way to go, KT!!! I did join WW online, but I am having a tough time with it. I think I just am not mentally committed right now. The last time I joined WW (2 years ago) it seemed so easy. I lost 29 pounds in 5 months, and I've kept off most of it (gained back about 8). So somehow I gotta get my brain engaged to eat right and get on the treadmill, 'cause I still need to lose at least another 30. |

mele, I'm impressed with your no sugar and simple carbs diet. I don't think I could give up either and admire those who can.
Good job on the continued weight loss and motivation everyone :)
I was doing really well until last night. A bunch of my cousins got together and I ate pizza and homemade cookies. I had mentally planned my pizza intake, looked up the points on DWLZ and then blew the whole thing. I just pretty much gave myself permission and plan to walk further than usual today. At least I know that when I blow that tomorrow is another day :)

| davewasbaloo Sat 1/20/2007 8:37a | Way to go guys. I have now joined you. I am on day 5 of my diet. I weighed >350 lbs - the scale couldn't weigh me at the doctor's and my BP was 154/94 even on BP pills. So, I am now on a 1200-1500 calorie a day diet.
It's really hard, especially living in hotels and restaurants, but I've been good so far. |

| officerminnie Sat 1/20/2007 8:44a | Wishing you the best of luck, davewasbaloo. I am in the same boat with the high blood pressure, although with meds it stays pretty well within the normal limits (never gets higher than 130's/80's, but I'd rather it stay at 120's/70's and I know if I excercise and drop some weight it will make a huge difference). I'm trying to get myself to focus on the health issues as opposed to just wanting to look better (although that is certainly an issue as well!). My boys already lost one parent way too soon, and I have got to do whatever I can to make sure they don't lose another. But then we always get into that mindset of "it won't happen to me..." Why does it have to be such a battle?!!! |
