| amazedncal2 Sat 1/27/2007 7:59a | KT, I'll be they have noticed :) In my DH's family the first thing anyone would say to another family member was "you have put on weight" or "you have lost weight". In my family it is my mother always commenting about how cute and tiny someone is. Bleech! I made a pact with myself to never comment on someone's weight.. Obviously my pact doesn't cross over to the internet :) If I know someone well enough that they have confided in me that they are on a diet I might say something in encouragement but to a client, neightbor or cousin, I avoid the weight issue and I just see them and not their weight.
Does that make sense? So again, I'll bet they notice and are just unsure what to say :) Then there is the issue of whether someone is losing weight because they are seriously ill. Once when my DH commented to a client that they had lost alot of weight they told him that they were dying. Last time DH opened his mouth about weight as a conversation starter!
Just some thoughts and good job on the continued weight loss :)
Have a great weekend everyone :) |

| davewasbaloo Sat 1/27/2007 8:26a | Well, I'm hitting the wall. I don't know if I've lost much - my clothes feel about the same and I can't weight myself. I am fed up of counting calories, and I really want to endulge in a pizza, coke and nachos right now!!! I feel hungry all the time, and I can't seem to concentrate. After 11 days, I feel fat and ugly (really for the first time since being a teenager). My confidence is down, and I am tired all the time.
I wonder if I'd be better off fat, happy and dying young???!!! |

We've all been there, ready to jump into the nachos or cake :) Sounds like you'd like some comfort food. Would a tub of a really good salsa and some reduced fat tortilla chips help? Sometimes I just need that salty snack or sugary treat. Then again, if you need pizza, order a small, with veg only. You'll be getting some protein, calcium and vitamins and maybe feeling a bit better about sticking with it.
I tend to give myself 2 meals off "diet" per week. I can plan for them and give myself permission and if I continue to walk, take the stairs, etc. I can still hang in there. It's a very mental thing for me. I also find that if I plan for that pizza on a Sunday night, I eat it slower and enjoy it more and feel NO guilt.
If you "blow it", tomorrow is another day, just jump back on :) |

| RAM1984 Sat 1/27/2007 10:55p | ^^Hang in there. I went out to dinner tonight and I ordered dessert. (Well, at least I split it will DH, who, BTW, doesn't need it either.) We all have good days, bad days and better days. And as amazedncal2 said, "tomorrow is another day." Sometimes I have to settle for being happy that I have quit gaining. Please keep us posted as we are all rooting for you. |

| Kennesaw Tom Sun 1/28/2007 6:02a | Hi everyone. Here we are at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We wanted to make dinner resevations last night at Jinko but they have a dress code and none of us brought regular pants ( I never knew Jinko had a dress code ). So we made dinner resevations for Boma. In the meantime we found the food court. And ended up eating there. I had the chicken csearer salad and some butternut squash soup. We cancelled our resevations at Boma. Yesterday morning I weighted 203 lbs and this morning I weight 204 lbs. I'm not sure where the extra poind came from. I brought a scale with me while on vacation since I am determined not to put on 5 lbs this trip. We have lunch resevations for Canada today at 11:44 AM.
So far so good....
Dave hang in there. Loosing weight doesn't happen over night. I had to train myslf to consistently eat less. Now I get full eating half of what I would consume before. I would have to say the first several weeks were the most difficult. Now its just clear sailing. I will have to look at Canada's menu and make sure they have salads for me to order. |

| Labuda Sun 1/28/2007 6:22a | Tom - Kiko didn't used to have a dress code, but they instituted one about, gosh, a year or 18 months ago now.
Anyhow, sorry you're up a pound, but good luck at getting rid of it and not letting any lf its friends join you while you're on the trip! :)
Ohh, and have a nice lunch in Canada!!! |
