| RAM1984 Wed 1/31/2007 10:42p | <----- Totally addicted to chocolate.
But have been on the wagon. I am so happy that this thread has been going so well as I am on a roll and it really helps if someone besides me posts everyday. Congratulations and I hope I can do as well when we go to Disneyland at the end of the month. |

| LacyBelle Thu 2/1/2007 9:46a | I'm still here, RAM. I've avoided posting in the topic as I haven't been doing as well as I feel I should.
I should be happy, as it is a long journey and need to exercise patience. I just seem to be struggling with getting back on track this time -- I must still be in holiday mode.
I am down 4 lbs since I started back with eating better last Monday. My main accomplishment is that I am down 35 lbs from my heaviest point 2-1/2 years ago.
We can all do it together, gang! |

About 4 years ago, I saw a picture of myself and couldn't believe how big I had gotten. It was at that point I made the decision to go on a lifestyle change (not a diet). I needed to change my eating habits and get on a path to en-light-enment. ;-p Anywho, I quit the sodas, stopped most of the fast-food, quit the burgers and fries, and no more Taco Bell. I proceeded to make heathier, leaner choices. I added alot of water to my regimen. I also found an alternative to soda. Hansens has a Peach Iced Tea with Splenda in it. Added greens to my diet...spinach and Raw Broccoli mostly. Had cereals w/ lots of fiber in them. Trader Joe's a great source. Also Uncle Sam's Cereal has Flaxseed in it, that's also good. I walked about 3 miles a day, 3 days a week. The pounds started dropping off. It was a little tough mid-way through, but I managed to get through it. I had lost 80 lbs in 11 months. I felt great, I was wearing clothes I thought I'd never be able to get into again.
Well, unfortunately...the loss only lasted me a couple of years, so I started gaining again. At this point I've managed to gain most of it back and I'm not happy about it. I've been inspired to go back on the lifestyle change today...and get my self back to a leaner, greener knight. :) There's so many positives to being thinner. I'm looking forward to the possibilites. |

| davewasbaloo Thu 2/1/2007 10:41a | Welcome aboard knightnfrees, and good luck.
Well, I am 17 days in and have a mean average intake of 1510 per day. I feel a little thinner (tightened my watch strap) but nobody has noticed (I suppose I am too fat for people to notice). When I looked at an obesity chart, I am off the chart.
I know I have to lose it, but I am finding it really tough, especially living in a hotel this week! I feel like I am an a hiding to nothing. But I need to focus on my goal - to lose 140 lbs in 2 years. |

| amazedncal2 Thu 2/1/2007 10:42a | I was up 1/2 lb. this week but I'm pretty "whatever" about it :) I've also tried to adopt a healthier eating lifestyle. I'm adding more vegetables to our diet and I'm becoming quite the expert on chopped salads :) You can hide lots of vegetables that way :) I chop them up, put them in the bottom of a salad bowl and then add a bit of rice or balsamic vinegar and let them marinate a bit, it's surprising how little salad dressing you need to add when you flavor the veges.
I've also found a yogurt at Trader Joes that I really like. Now I have no excuse for not grabbing something healthy to take to the office because I don't want to take time to make a lunch.
I haven't tried Uncle Sam's cereal before, what does it taste like? Trader Joes has packages of oatmeal with alot of "good for you" stuff added, I don't know if it's new but I tried it last week and like it better than the more popular brand.
Have a great day everyone :) |

| LacyBelle Thu 2/1/2007 10:45a | Welcome aboard, knight.
I've found the toughest, most discouraging thing is gaining the weight back. I had gotten down to a 50 lb loss, with only about 5 or 10 to go until my goal -- so close. I stopped the good habits (because I felt so darn good about myself) and promptly gained 20 of it back.
I have a feeling once getting down to goal weight, the maintenance is going to be the toughest part.
Like you said, it truly is a lifestyle change and not a 'diet.' It's not just the weight, but feeling better and having more energy.
Best of luck to us all in meeting our healthy goals. |

It's a unique blend of toasted whole grain wheat flakes and whole flaxseed. It's okay, it does need something added to it like. So, I'll put a light dusting of splenda or dried blueberries on it and it's pretty good. Uncle Sam's Oatmeal-Raisin Cereal bars are really good, too.

Ya know, LacyBelle. When I met you at the Club 33 meet, I thought you looked great. I didn't see you as having weight issues. :) I know it's a struggle, though. I've been dealing with the ups and downs most of my life. I'm really psyched to get started down this road and look forward to the thinner me. |
