| alexbook Fri 2/2/2007 10:03a | Grrr. I put on 5 pounds in January.
I had a moderately crummy time in January, and every time something went wrong, I would use ice cream or pizza to cheer myself up.
I need to find some different way of cheering myself up.
Anyway, that puts me at 30 pounds over my target weight. Grrr (again). |

| LacyBelle Fri 2/2/2007 10:17a | Hang in there, Alex.
The first step is realizing what makes you eat and go for 'comfort food' (geez, that sounds like something they'd say in recovery programs LOL).
Wishing you a better February!

| Kennesaw Tom Fri 2/2/2007 2:10p | I'm doing fairly well while on vacation. I have mostly been eating chicken cseasar salads while on vacation. So I don't think I'm doing too terribly bad. I haven't eaten any fried foods. We did eat at Boma and I was fairly good eating mostly veggies. We also ate in Germany and I was bad there... oops. Ate in Canada. I got the salmon salad which was great. Last night ate at the Big River Grille and beer works at the Boardwalk. I had the chicken cseasar salad which was incredible and a beer. I haven't weighted myself in two days. I don't think I've gained that much. I'm being fairly good and doing a LOT of walking. |

I got home last night after being away for 4 days - gosh my wife was gorgeous!!!! So things are working for Sarah.
For me, I feel fat, but Sarah noticed a difference when she hugged me last night. My clothes feel a little looser too - so maybe it's working. |

| RAM1984 Sat 2/3/2007 2:33p | Thank you for sharing Liberty Belle. Slow and steady is usually how we gain weight and I believe it is the best way to lose it and keep it off.
Sorry you have had a rough time Alex. All it takes is a little extra stress and I head for the Chunky Monkey ice cream. (Boy, it's been a long time since I had THAT!!)
My best to all and I hope we all make it through the weekend. We are having our sons over for the game. I will try not to give myself "permission" to overeat. I was thinking Papa Murphy's but have decided to make something at home.

| amazedncal2 Sat 2/3/2007 5:23p | Hi, I made it through my sisters birthday lunch, well sort of :) I ordered a reuben (sp) sandwich and home fries without even thinking. Whoops! I didn't touch the fries and only ate about 1/2 the sandwich. That's what talking with my sisters and looking at family photos while I ordered does to my brain.
After shopping we went to Pete's and had coffee, I just got a cup of black coffee and had a bit of my sister's PB cookie rather than ordering a mocha and my own cookie. Small baby steps there.
I haven't told my sisters or mom that I'm back on WW. My sisters and I have the same weight issues and they are great but my MOM sheesh, she will go on and on about how she could never GAIN weight and so and so this and so and so that, so I've just found it best to keep weight off any topic list when we are together :) It would have helped me a bit today though, now that I think about it. I would have been more careful if I felt like I was being watched.
I think I'll go for a walk now :) Have a great evening everyone :) |

| amazedncal2 Sun 2/4/2007 7:26a | ^^ thanks :) Today is Superbowl Sunday. I already have lots of raw veges. and low fat dip and low fat tortilla chips and salsa ready to go to our DD's house this afternoon. I won't be watching the game but I will be eating :)
davewasbaloo, getting the balance right is a good thought. It's something I'm going to keep in mind during the day. My DD and I will be shopping for a few hours in the afternoon so while she tries on clothes I'll take a walk :) |

| Kennesaw Tom Sun 2/4/2007 2:05p | I"m back from WDW. AND..... I didn't gain any weight. When I got to WDW I weighted 203 lbs and I weighted myself this am ( sunday ) and I weight 203 lbs. I can't believe it! I thought for sure I might have gained a couple of pounds. I have to say that for the most part I was very good while on vacation. I mostly ate chicken cseasar salads at least one meal each day. I was trying to eat very healthy, no fried food, mostly vegtables, no starches. Apparently it paid off. I am sure that all the walking I did helped keep the weight off.
OK, yea I know I was on vaction. But honestly the way I felt about the whole weight thing was that I have worked so hard to loose 23 lbs. There is no way I'm going to blow it while on vacation. Even if it is Walt Disney World. And yes I managed to eat at Boma ( incredible, I had mostly vegtables and salmon ), Bongo's ( my new favorite restaurant at WDW, I had the Cuban fried rice it was SSOOOO GOOD ), Germany ( I know, I know, german food is my flaw but I just have to do it within reason this trip ), Big River Grille and Brewing Works ( Incredible as allways! I had the mahi mahi cseasar salad ), Canada ( just keep that cheese soup coming, I also got the salmon salad here, wonderful!).
Who says you can't eat in all the great restaurants and not gain weight. |
