I know there is already a countdown topic, but i am so abuzz with excitement i had to start my own.

My fella and i are taking my 16yo daughter to disney world. She and i haven't been since 1995 and this will be our first trip as a family.

We've been feverishly planning and reading guidebooks, both official and unofficial, scowering the web, getting tips from co-workers and friends...and now you all!

So far we've got a bunch of dining reservations, including motherdays breakfast for Becca and I at Akerhauss in Norway (she is dying to meet Belle!!)

With the countdown now at 7 days, I'd love if if you'd share your hidden gems, things you and your group have had the most fun at!

I think Fort Wilderness is really under rated. I don't hear many people talk about it here.

Even if you aren't staying there, there are so many things you can just visit and do there.

They have movies under the stars. Every night they play one or two Disney movies outside. Before the movie, they have a campfire sing along with Chip and Dale.

They have a petting zoo, and I've heard the Hoop Dee Doo Review is not to be missed. You can rent bikes and ride around the woodsy resort. There are SO many things to do there, it is a great resort!!!

Make sure to visit The Animal Kingdom Lodge. Make PS for Boma for dinner, and then wander around the resort. There are areas you can sit and rock on a chair while watching the animals walk around.

They have night vision goggles you can watch the animals with if you are there after dark.

Unfortunately those are the only two resorts I've stayed at. But both are top notch!

Well, though we're both adults, my DH & I had a blast with our Epcot World Showcase passport on our honeymoon - it's only about $11 and you take it to the "kidcot" stations at each country in Epcot and have a cast member sign it and stamp it. :)

We got toi have extra-special fun, I think, because we were there during the Millenium celebration and got all the countries that were in the big ew pavilio over there in WS to sign, too - Brazil, Eritrea, South Africa, and so on. WAY cool!

We went horseback riding on our honeymoon in 93. Would it have been at FW? I can't remember and that was before I became adicted to Disney. AKL is my dream someday... We're thinking or our 20th anniversary. Our first born will just about be done with HS. Of course we'll go before then, just a lot more moderately.

Woohoo 7 days! I love to be able to say - less than one week to go!

One of my friends just took her two daughters to the princess character meal and said it was the highlight of the trip - enjoy!

Our biggest tip for enjoying our visits has always been arrive early, stay late and take a nice long break in the middle of the day. This is easiest to do if you're staying on-site. But generally we'll hit a park first thing in the morning and around or after lunch go back to the hotel, take a nap or swim and then after a good rest head out again and close a park. We've tried to do a whole day before open to close park hopping but it ended with me falling asleep in the middle of Cosmic Ray's at the MK while eating my dinner. Not a pretty sight. ;)

I hope you, your husband and Becca have a wonderful trip!

On a side note - I have a niece named Becca - its one of my favorite names. :) I hope your Becca enjoys meeting Belle!

Several resorts have fishing excursions and I would love to look for the remnants of the fort wilderness railroad.

Miniature golf is also a great change of pace from riding and eating.

Rent a pontoon boat at Old Key West resort and cruise the waterways past Port Orleans - Saratoga Springs -- and the old Treethouse area...and into the lake by downtown Disney -- it is a lot of fun and a different way to see parts of WDW
