I think I've mentioned on here before how sometimes I just like to sing for no reason. I'm not good at it. I don't always know all the words but I think it's fun to sing and I like it.

We went through a couple of days here where we were singing to each other in various threads and I thought it was funny. Well, pretty much anyway. :P

Anyway, I wanted to make this thread as sort of a pressure valve for when you feel like singing out loud but can't. (I have that happen to me a lot. LOL)

You don't have to post the whole song, but I think the lyrics should be right, don't you? You can post the artist if you want but you don't have to.

Okay... here a song that I felt like singing today. LOL. It's by Natasha Bedingfield (sp?). I love the words - especially the part about no one can speak the words on your lips and today is where your book begins.

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with eyes wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with eyes wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with eyes wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with eyes wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with eyes wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten

D'oh! I meant to delete the long repeats in the song before I posted. I always screw up. LOL. Well, you get the point, don't you?

The love boat
soon will be making another run.
The love boat
promises something for everyone.

Ok. That's enough.

Some people call me the space cowboy.
Some call me the gangster of love.
Some people call me Maurice,
'Cause I speak of the pompatus of love.

That's a good one, CD, but here's the one I like even more:

I told you 'bout livin' in the U.S. of A.
Don't you know that I'm the gangster of love?
Let me tell you people that I found a new way,
And I'm tired of all this talk about love.
I'm a space cowboy--
Bet you weren't ready for that!
I'm a space cowboy--
I'm sure you know where it's at!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

(Did I ever tell you that I met Steve Miller once? I was an assistant animator on one of his videos, and he stopped by the lab to check out the computers.)

Well, somebody told me
You had a boyfriend who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It's not confidential
I've got potential

Well, it was more like my boss's boss met him and I stood around and listened, but I did get to shake his hand. :-)

Now I'm really in a Steve Miller mood:

I used to be bad
But I don't have to be bad no more
Yeah, I used to be bad
But I don't have to be bad no more
Well ain't no doubt about it, people
It's something you can't ignore

Well, I ain't good looking
People, you know I've been up on a shelf
Yes, I know I ain't good looking
And I've been put up on the shelf
But I got a sweet disposition
I like to enjoy myself

Well, no matter what you say
No matter what you do
You've got one life to live
It's gonna come back home to you

The good lord made this world
And everything that's in it
The way I see it, baby
You got to love it to the limit

Yes I used to be bad
But I ain't gonna be bad no more
