The perfect gift for me would be Completions and connections left from Last year, ski shop, Encounter, most interesting. Had his number but never the time Most of '81 passed along those lines. So deck those halls, trim those trees Raise up cups of Christmas cheer, I just need to catch my breath, Christmas by myself this year. Calendar picture, frozen landscape, Chilled this room for twenty-four days, Evergreens, sparkling snow Get this winter over with! Flashback to springtime, saw him again, Would've been good to go for lunch, Couldn't agree when we were both free, We tried, we said we'd keep in touch. 362	chickendumpling Sat 12/9/2006 10:25a	Needed new posters, so I bought them I know the cost of stamps now the thirty-first is when I pay the phone bill I told them I don't even know anybody in Toronto Everyday at seven I've been watching Walter I've been reading more and looking up the hard words I met people who get me on the guest list My parents said that they would help me pay for grad school You know I have never washed a sweater I never knew when my hair was to long I got the cab calls out of my hi-fi I learned a lot since you've been gone I've done a lot since you've been gone Not bitter-beat the vicious cycle Typecast as the model couple I'm sorry but I don't feel awful It wasn't the end of the world I'm sorry I can't be helpless It wasn't the end of the world I know someone who really met Belushi I fixed the toilet so it doesn't always run I moved a chair over by the window I feel better if my laundry's done Getting by on less sleep then I used to I had no trouble setting up a desk I learned the reason for a three-pronged outlet I got 100 on my drivers test I got a trick to get them to deliver I called the landlord when the water turned brown Did you know I own some valuable records? 370	chickendumpling Wed 12/20/2006 11:33p	A lady stands before an open window looking so far away she can almost feel the southern winds blow gently touching his restless day He turns from his window to me sad smile his apology sad eyes reaching to the door Daylight loses to another evening still he spares me words goodbye sits alone beside me fighting his feelings struggles to speak but in the end can only cry Suddenly it's so hard to find the sound of the words to speak his troubled mind so I'm offering ease to him as if to be kind There's a train every day leading either way there's a world you know there's a way to go I soon believe it's just as well this is my opening farewell A child's drawings left there on the table and a woman's silk is lying on the floor I would keep them here if I were able to lock you safe behind it's open door Suddenly it's so clear to me that I'd ask you to see what you may never see now my kind words find their way back to me There's a train every day leading either way there's world you know got a way to go I soon believe it's just as well this is my opening farewell This is my opening farewell. = bonnie raitt
