I was refering to what was said earlier in the topic, about them now not offering free upgrades if a savannah view room is available. Which is what we got when we stayed there in 2004.

I just wondered if no one had agreed to pay a savannah view price, and all the standard rooms were taken, then would they rather turn them down, than offer a free upgrade?

I don't know if they would or not but it seems as they should. Funny thing: I work at a farm store. My boss is big into the "disney" way, reads all the books etc. Says he wants our store to be the Disneyland of farm stores :). So, in a case where a customer of ours wanted a specific grade 5 bolt (less expensive) and we happened to be out of the size the customer wanted we would give him a grade 8 bolt (more expensive) at the price of the grade 5. Therefore since our store strives to be like Disney - I think they should give out the Savannah view room for the price of the regular room in the case that they were all booked. Anyway, just my own little Farmstore to Disney analogy. :)

If you had booked a standard room and arrived and they were all taken, they would have to upgrade you free of charge ... otherwise it would be a bait and switch.

This does happen sometimes as guests extend stays or move rooms or resorts.

I have stayed at AKL and it was very nice; however, I'd much rather stay at a moderate or value Disney Resort and then spend my money on good meals and entertainment. Stay at Port Orleans or All Star Movies and then book great meals and go see shows like Cirque de Soliel.

Thanks for all this helpful information as we are trying to decide where to stay next year. We stayed at Caribbean Beach 13 years ago on our honeymoon and I loved it. Hubby wants to stay at the Floridian but for the price, we coud do other things with the money if we stayed somewhere else. I love the photos of AK so we may end up there too.
