Can anyone tell me what type of ride this is. I do know that it's a simulation ride but is it open like Hanna Barbara and Back to the Future or is it like Body Wars which is closed in?

It is closed, just like Body Wars.

Body Wars was based on Star Tours... meaning they both have the same exact ride vehicles.

One thing I can tell you is for whatever reason, Body Wars always made me nauseous....even after laying off a few years and trying again before the Pavilion was closed. I have never had that feeling on Star Tours....

p.s. I ride many thrill rides so I am usually not suspect to that feeling...never could figure it out.

I just knew someone would mention how Body Wars makes them feel queezy. As someone who has not had problems on either, I fail to make the connection as to why, but it must be the content of the movie itself.

Maybe for some, for me, I don;t think so, In college I took pre some pre med classes and watched things like facial reconstruction and most major surgeries on film...the content would not have bothered me, which is why I really cannot figure out, but it happened every time, not just once in a while. Also the ride didn;t ever seem jerkier, or having more movement, in fact some of the programmed movements seemed similar.

I don't mean the content of the movie is gross, I am thinking more about orientation. Maybe it's that you are supposedly in a liquid, so the movements are more wave-like instead of sharp?

I'm willing to buy anything as it has baffled me forever. I don't get seasick, I scuba dive so water not likely it, I handle all thrill rides well ( not so well on rides like teacups any longer though LOL ) - if anything I found the movie boring in Body Wars...yet felt like yuck each time I exited.

Thanks for the info. I have been on Body Wars and was no good the rest of the day. So, I guess Star Tours is out for me. I have a very weak stomach to begin with. My husband goes on all the thrill rides and the tea cups get him every time. No explanation for that.
