i posted this thread at the beginning of this craze and in light of recent rumors, i was wondering if people now feel there is too much Pirates.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the revamped Pirates of the carribean. i am just wondering if the whole craze is reaching a saturation point.
Plus the band is getting boring. they were good the first few times i saw the show, but now I realize it is exactly same show every show day in and day out. Yes Laughing stock is bascially the same premise every day, but at least with audience participation there are sublte changes each time you see it.
I am getting tired of the joke about Small World. Ok we get it. It is a simplistic attraction. get some new material already.

I, for one love the Pirates......... and my 13 year old is crazy for them too........ but, only time will tell if it gets to be too much..... sometimes things start out fun, then it gets overwhelming. But, so far, it's fun.

I love all of the pirate stuff! Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite rides, movies and all of that fun stuff. Has anyone been to the new pirate lair?

I have to admit that the pirate's lair has ruined TSI for me. I love what they did but now it's too crowded on the island. It used to be a favorite place to escape the crowds.

I personally like it better than TSI, but i do miss all the fun bridges and things to look through and stuff. It is kind of more crowded but i love. It kind of depends on the time of year you go too. I go every January and w walk on all of the rides.

Maybe the audience that they are shooting for is not the one that is there all the time-but the guest that only visits 1 or 2x a year.

OF course it's the same show every time. That's how shows work.

Really, is TSI really all that more crowded now? I went on the island back in middle of August and it felt fine to me. Admittely I haven't been there in years and heard it was basically a ghost town for awhile now---hence the redo, so maybe compared to the last few years I guess.

Maybe I just went on an off day or something, but besides the people waiting in line to take pictures with Jack Sparrow, everything was comfortable and no waits to do anything. Even the main cave didn't seem all that busy as I could wait for the main pirate to turn into a skeleton and not have people in line behind me. The walkways had a few people on it, but not exactly like walking through AL or anything ;).

I was really surprised how 'quiet' it felt since this had a lot of hoopla just 2 and a half months prior.

ORDDU: Disney management ALWAYS over-promotes certain things these days. My sisters and I are getting used to it. We just try to enjoy what we like and skip over the promotions that don't interest us.

ORGOCH: In other words, YEAH!! They's been doin' too much with them dang pirates and they gits in the way a my frog hunts a lot a the time. But at least they still gots the frogs, so's I cain't complain too much.

I think it is a lot more crowded than it was. I've been going at relatively similar times since last fall (pretty much weekends only), and it was practically deserted last year. The rafts were always a walk-on, both ways. The longes wait you would have is if one raft just left and you have to wait for the one to physically get across the river and let the people on it out. Now it seems like the rafts have a line most of the time (even if it is only one or two rafts long), which is a huge jump. Also, the rafts getting sent across have been completely full when I've been by, so that seems like a lot more too. Unfortunately I haven't made it over there myself, but it seems like there are at least a lot more people going over there and back, even if they aren't staying as long as previously had been done (which would keep the crowds down).
All times are Pacific Time (US)
