Um, it'll be a while before they do a "Year of a Million Neuroleptics" promotion....but I'm crossing my fingers (and eyes) for you. |

I loved TSI before the Pirate's Lair makeover but there never seemed to be much of a crowd. Now, when I go over there, I see activity everywhere and a lot of smiling faces on both the younger set and the adults. As much as I was afraid of the changes, I've come to believe that they're good ones and TSI is now making a lot of people happy. IMO, I think that's what Walt would have wanted. |

Oh well.
Hope there's lots of neon and rap music. I think that would sit well next to the indian village. |

The sequels were a mess. The acting atrocious (in some cases), and they lacked a compelling villain. Barbossa almost saved the third movie, but couldn't. It was like the end of the Batman franchise, too many actors that needed screen time, too many paper thin villains, and no real plot to follow.
I enjoyed the additions to POTC, but after the sequels, I would prefer they were removed. I understand that with the billions the movies made, that won't be happening.
The Pirate overlay of TSI though, has been well done, and was quite enjoyable. I hope they make it permanent and expand upon it.

| friendofdd Thu 11/8/2007 10:54a | The 3rd movie convinced me that Barbosa was the star and the franchise had gone on too long for the rest.
I do like the island changes. I felt nostalgic about losing the Tom Sawyer touch, but what has been done is very good. Took my 6 yr old grandson there on tuesday. He hasn't a clue about the Twain stories, but does know pirates (has a skull and crossbones flying from his backyard play set) and thoroughly enjoys playing on the island. As did my own children 35-40 years ago.
It isn't as quiet as before the changes, but I remind myself it is for the enjoyment of all guests and not just a place for me to relax and take a nap. |
