| Zwitek Fri 11/9/2007 12:00a | <<< The 3rd movie convinced me that Barbosa was the star and the franchise had gone on too long for the rest. >>>
This is my feeling exactly. The second Pirates film for me was the absolute worst. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't enjoying the film, until the end when Barbossa appeared, back from the dead.
That was a huge "A-ha!" moment. It was exactly what was missing. A real pirate villain. Not some CGI crying squid-man, or Keith Richards playing guitar (argh), an unintelligible voodoo lady, a barnacle bootstrap bill, Johnny Depp on an acid trip, or an EMO Pirate hero in Will Turner fresh off the cover of "Teen Pirate Beat" magazine.
I hope that Disneyland can really expand on the offerings on the island, as much as I feel that it has been well done, I think that even more can be done.
I miss the old Tom Sawyer feel to it, but times change. I wouldn't ride the stagecoaches if they were still at the park, just as many obviously didn't spend much time at TSI. New things sometimes replace the old.

I'm not too impressed with the changes to POTC, with Captain Jack included here and there. But TSI needed some serious updating, and the pirates theme works nicely out there. It's not my cup of tea, but I can understand why others, especially kids, like it. And adding attractions on the island would be a good idea, but I just don't see that happening anytime soon. |

| EighthDwarf Fri 11/9/2007 9:47a | I agree about the changes to PotC - they don't do anything for me. In fact, I think the Captain Jack scene at the end is awful. I loved the previous version with the smooth transtion back to the real world as you go up the lift.
The TSI changes are okay. Tom Sawyer played adventure games (including pirate games) so I think they fit in with the island. I don't know about future changes though. I suppose they could overdo it... |

I personally didn't think that it was all that confusing either. The beginnig stumped me, but once they explained what the song was for I understood the whole thing. I love the things they did to the ride to because it puts in the movies. I could spend the whole day on that side of disneyland |

| NJ AP Sun 11/11/2007 10:47a | Enough with the pirates ... we need more princesses! I still miss seeing them around the castle.
Rant warning ... why do the pirates have entertainmet for a 5-minute boat ride and the princesses have nothing for an hour long wait?????

| Tink2002 Mon 11/12/2007 6:28a | Too much pirates?
My answer became yes when they turned the Christmas shop into yet another pirates-themed shop. Enough already.
We love PoC and like the additions, but NOS has become too entrenched with pirates - IMHO. I miss the old pure New Orleans theme. |

| llanatoye Mon 11/12/2007 12:04p | I was there yesterday and the Christmas shop is in Frontierland and at the Crystal Palace on Main Street. Not sure where the shop Tink2002 is talking about. |

| x Pirate_Princess x Mon 11/12/2007 12:22p | There used to be a Christmas shop in NOS, past the exit for Pirates and the Blue Bayou. Now, it's one of the Pirates Shops on that back alley of NOS, as it goes around to the restrooms. |
