Some of the stores are still themed though.

Too much Pirates? No. Are we at the llimit? Yes. I think that adding any more pirates would be over the top, but now we are at an acceptable maximum. I LOVE the movies for what they are but also agree with the previous posters as to the weaknesses of "Chest" and "World's End".

One thing that had always been important to Walt was the whimsical idea of pirates in general. Peter Pan, Capt. Hook, POTC, Swiss Family Robinson, Treasure Island, etc etc etc...

This is why it is so cool that pirates are back and popular. Timing is everything. Could this have been pulled off in the 80's or 90's? No. (See Cutthroat Island starring Geena Davis).
Because of the great special effects, perfect casting, and over-all FUN, the Pirates genre was revived in and it is cool again to be labeled a "pirate."

And to this I fell Walt would agree.

I have no problem with the extension of the pirates theme to TSI since, as someone mentioned earlier, Tom and Huck played pirate games. It works.
Captain Jack in the POTC attraction though?
Don't like it. Too much contemporary in an attraction that is supposed to transport you back in time.
When you've got girls in the boat saying, "There's Johnny Depp," it sort of ruins it for you.
I had heard his appearance was very subtle, but after having ridden it, his presence is as subtle as a garlic sandwich. He's right there at the bottom of the last lift, and he appears in a couple of other places. It's too much in my opinion.

The stores sell basically the same old homogenized junk, so its fitting that the parks are selling the same old junk. I like (heck love) pirates but in this case it might be better to go back to leaving the lead out of the ride. How about something non-Pixar and new?

"THE PIRATES ARE NOT TOO MUCH!!!!" and "SMALL WORLD WILL NEVER GET OLD!!!!" are the first things I think of when approched with this topic. The're timeless atractions and well loved. "NO WAY!!!!" will they EVER be too much or too old!

I agree that the pirates aren't too much. And having worked World, I'll always have a special place for that attraction. I remember it as a kid, and as a cast member.
I do think Johnny Depp in Pirates is too much. I know it's really supposed to be Jack Sparrow. I just can't separate the two though. My opinion.

No, not too much pirates. It's revived interest in TSI as well as the POTC attraction; just look at how many more guests these attractions get now.

I think any more would be pushing it, but as it stands today, it's just the right amount.
