Book at POFQ for sure, Kieran. It ROCKS!

But, I must say this:

"Pepper Market is just the best of the counter serve locations on property. Excellent fresh food."

Lee is 100% correct here. Pepper Market ROCKS!

^^Even a blind monkey can find a banana every once in a while. ;-)

And FQ is also by far the best moderate, with Coronado next ... the other two far behind.

Matter of opinion. I would rate them POR #1, CBR #2 POFQ #3. I won't comment on CS because I've never stayed there.

Oh Trippy, you just love being difficult.

I do like the ambience of The Resort Formerly Known as Dixie Landings, but I don't find it as relaxing as FQ or Coronado. I also hate what they've done to Boatwright's menu.

CBR just does nothing to me. And it was the first WDW resort I ever stayed at that gave me an unacceptable room ... I have seen nothing to prove they are maintaining their rooms any better now than they were 5-6 years ago.

No, just a matter of opinion. I've always loved Dixie Landings and always will. If we could stay at Dixie Landings for the same number of DVC points per night as a Studio at the Boardwalk I think at least half of our time would be spent at Dixie.

As I said, I won't comment on CS because I've never stayed there. My major complaint with POFQ is that they shut down the table service restaurant. They should NEVER have done that.

As for Caribbean Beach; I did not personally find the lack of maintenance others mention. I liked the large rooms, the nightly entertainment, and the selection at the gift shops. The CBR probably had more resort-related merchandise than any other resort I've stayed at. Sure, it is largely because of the POTC tie-in, but it still makes for fun shopping.

Also, the location is more convenient as far as I'm concerned. It is closer to Epcot, MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom than POFQ is. POFQ is closer only to the MK.

But as I said... it is all opinion anyway. I would rather stay in a Wilderness Cabin at Fort Wilderness than at the Yacht Club Concierge level. Yes, even if I could purchase either with the same number of DVC points.

Go figure.

First off, I would not describe any Disney moderate resort as being awful. They are each different animals, offer different amenities and each offers a unique resort experience.

We are all going to have our preferences toward piped music, sit down resaurants, amenities and services to children on property, convience to the parks. They each have their own merits. I really don't think I would be disappointed at any moderate I would stay at. They just each have their own magical charm.

Look at the pictures, listen to the piped in music, read what amenities each has to offer. Consider the size of each resort. Ask the opinions of others.

Put my vote down for POFQ, and actually we'll be there when you are! We stayed there two years ago and can't wait to get back. It's smaller, easier to get around, and the rooms were nice. With two kids, we didn't want to have a huge walk from the bus stop to the room every day, and that made POFQ a great choice. The kids love the pool also! Enjoy!

Thanks for all the help. At the moment I'm still trying to decide whether to spend the extra on where we stay or on goodies while I'm there so my ressies for POP are still standing at the moment!!!

I have heard that the All Star resort now gets free wifi and that they are considering doing free wifi at the wilderness lodge soon.

While anything's possible, I highly doubt that the All Star is getting free wifi. There's just too much money to be made by charging $10 a day for online access. Hotels out on the road give wifi for free as an incentive to stay there. Disney has no reason to do this, as there's already all the incentive in the World (pun intended!) to stay at their hotels.
