HI there! Ok so i am in need of major help planning a trip to wdw next year. major concerns-
1) are the value resorts worth it? they look cute!
2) We are worried we might miss something! AGAIN!

We are Dland fanatics and go 3-5 times a year and have been 1 time to WDW 4years ago before marriage and kids! we feel like we missesd alot. we will be going this time next year for 10 days. We will be traveling with my folks, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins in their 20's and 2 kids they will be ages 10 & 4. We will be celebrating my mom's b-day and my anniversary! So I need insider tips on how to get our rooms decorated beforehand as a surprise and what not to miss! Thanks!!

Disney is really good about doing special things to the rooms when it is for a birthday and anniversary.I would call the resort directly about 2-3 days befor you arive and let them know what you want.
I would go to a moderate and not a value but that is just me..I've heard that the new suites at the allstars are nice. You could get a couple of those rooms. On the moderate I would go CBR thay are the largest of the moderest. In size of property and room size. 2nd choice I would ge to POF or POR. Theyare both nice.
A great web site that has very good info on the restort and planning is: Allearsnet.com very helpful.

Have fun planning and a great time.

OK, for hot tips. Try out www.mousesavers.com

I would recommend that you get at least one annual pass. That will give you significant discounts on up to three rooms. Also huge discounts on park passes for everyone else, food and gifts.

I also recommend the moderates over the Value resorts. I would highly recommend POFQ. Its going to have the fewest number of rooms for a moderate resort. Its VERY romantic, and the BEST resort for families with small children. For adults POR is nearby for shops, fishing, boating, biking and nighttime activity. Both POFQ and POR have boat access to DTD shops, restaurants and Pleasure Island. They also have bus access anywhere in WDW. Also keep in mind that you can "split" up your stay and spend a few nights in a moderate and then a few in a Deluxe. This works out great if you want to try a resort such as the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge but really don't want the expense of staying at either one for 10 days.

You also didn't mention what time of year your going. Depending on the time of year can be a factor on if you should stay at a Deluxe resort or Moderate. Keep in mind that the Moderates are going to have outside doors to each room. ALL Deluxes will have inside corridors and doors.

Check www.mousesavers.com to see if there are any Disney vacation package specials going on during your trip stay. Disney has already annouced free meal plan for anyone staying in August and September of 2007.

I would recommend initially just booking the rooms. Even if you plan on calling in later and adding a vacation package for passes, meals etc. When you book just the rooms you are only responcible for paying one night ( for each room ) at the time of booking. You have up to check in time to pay for everything else. Disney has very favorable cancellation policies with "rooms only" booking. When you book a vacation package you have to have the whole thing paid up I think three months out. And there are harsh consequences for cancellations.

For this reason. I have always just gotten "room only" resevations and then added all the passes upon arrival.

You might also want to purchase a recent copy of a guide to WDW.

If your leaning toward a room close to around $100 per night, consider one of the hotels in DTD. I recently stayed at the Best Western and even though it was rather generic and worn, I found the hotel to be extremely convienent and comfortable. Eating was a much more pleasant experience over the food courts at the Values or Moderates. I would choose a DTD hotel over a Value resort.

Also, please bear in mind that no matter what, you will not be able to do everything in 10 days. So plan on key things and leave some loose time. That way you will avoid disaapointment.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
