Wow, I recently posted about the adddition of the super-caloric McGriddle to the McD's menu here in Japan.

Passing by the golden arches tonight, I saw something new. The "Mega-Mac". Which appears to be a big mac with four beef patties (probably more cheese too, I dunno)!

There was a time where quarter pounders fell off the menu here due to lack of interest. Nobody wanted to eat something that BIG.

Even 8 years ago, there was no super-size. Sure is now!

What's going on? Is McDonald's trying to recruit more fatties to make up for all the dead ones in America?

And, will this impact the Japanese and their oh so healthy regular diet?

I'm not sure we even have the "Mega-Mac" here in the States.

Most of us are forced to buy two separate Big Macs and pile 'em up.

lol.

Well, that way you get a lot more BREAD too. :D

Actually, a funny thing is that the cheeseburgers here are a buck but the double cheeseburger is 2.50 (roughly).

I just don't get that logic. Anyone who wants a double cheese can just buy the 2 cheeseburgers and throw away one bun (optional), so why the heck would anyone actually PAY for a double cheeseburger!?

Speaking of the "pile up"...if I time it just right I COULD get my hands on a McGriddle and then a Mega-Mac one minute later.

The caloric posibilities are endless!!

Then, if I just stick some fries into the mix, and mush an apple pie on top (they are still FRIED in Japan, yum!!)...I wonder if I could have a guiness record here! :D

Definitely a record in the making.

If not "most calories in 1 sandwich", I'm still a shoe-in for "fastest cardiac arrest".

That's what I was thinking!

As to Japan's sudden interest in larger portions, I blame this guy:

Yeah, we had this back here in the states, at least in Califonia. It was called a "Monster Mac". I think it came out to coincide with the Godzilla 2000 promotion, if memory serves me correct.

No jealous protests?

FRIED pies people.

Like they used to be in America, before McDonald's became health concious (lololololololololhahahahaha).

Mmmm...FRIED apple pies. That was my biggest "little surprise" when I first arrived in Japan after years of mourning the fried pie demise of 1992.

Of course, fried pies are of little consequence compared to the horrific loss of all allied Burger King restaurants in 2001 (scheduled for re-boot, Summer 2007! :D), not to mention the impossibility of finding a decent breakfast ANYWHERE even though enemy forces disguised as Denny's and IHOP lurk throughout the countryside.

Don't ya just HATE those skinny jerks that eat whatever they want and never put on an ounce!?

And that third place contestant is a teeny tiny CHICK from Japan, no less.

UNFAIR! >:(

Hey K2M, pass the salt.

(yes I realize I'm reduced to talking to myself as the majority of America is in bed now...pathetic, I know)
