Topic: What is HAPPENING to the Japanese diet!?

11	gurgitoy2 Fri 1/12/2007 7:38a	It's a shame that bigger portions are spreading. I really wish America would "downsize" it's portions. I HATE eating at diners in the US because they just give you WAY too much food. There is no possible way I can force that much food down. Even when I go to fast food places, I end up just ordering a burger and drink because I can't eat a whole combo with fries...just too much. I hope Japan decides they really don't want to eat McGriddles or MegaMac...
12	TDLFAN Fri 1/12/2007 7:10p	>>I'm not sure we even have the "Mega-Mac" here in the States.<< This item is not a part of the menu at McDonald's in the FL markets at least, but the Burger King chain does sell a mega-whopper *and* a mega egg/sausage breakfast sandwish as well. As for McDs in Japan. SHAME ON THEM. They do have some great service that puts the US outlets to bloody shame, and some great items in their menu (ebi burger, black pepper burger, to name a few) and the best ketchup on Earth. Not to mention.. FANTA GRAPE!! But to make Japan explode with calories and heart attacks is simply a misguided attempt to sway the youth in that country to go fatty fatty oh so catty.
13	Mr X Fri 1/12/2007 7:51p	I'm sure TDLFAN can remember further back, but when I first arrived in 1998 I believe that the largest drink was a "medium" American size and the largest fries was also American "medium". Now large is always available, AND they even sometimes have those super-super sized drinks (like a quart or something!). Times they are a changin. Mega-Macs and McGriddles are definitely starting to make the Japanese McD's take on some of the ridiculous proportions that shocked me when I returned to America!

19	Mr X Sat 1/13/2007 8:50a	TDLFAN, you disappoint me! Wouldn't you prefer Mos burger? THAT is real quality (FAR superior to Wendy's, McD's or any other...the ONLY drawback is that it is small).
20	TDLFAN Sat 1/13/2007 3:08p	I have had Mos Burger and has been totally unimpressed. I much prefer that other french outlet... can't remember the name of it now... It's all over Paris.
