Well, I don't base my 'pixie dust concept' on that type of things but other more sentimental things that move me.. Listening to When you Wish upon a Star at the end of a show.. or a CM bending over to pick up discarded trash, or a child smiling wide as Mickey comes dowm Main Street.
The opposite happens in regards to MIllion Dreams... for example.. seeing an entire family weraing a dream FP. My first thought is "what makes them special? Why not me getting one of those?" Everytime I see Dream Squad members going around.. the whole concept makes me ill. ALL guests should be treated equal and the rewards should be offered equal without favoritism among the masses <---THAT is why I am so dead against the whole idea of YOMD.
SuperDry, thanks for the clip! FUN!

Bingo. It is that sense of entitlement that bugs me immensely.
The Dream Squads are trained to pick out vacationing families and couples. That is precisely the point of this celebration.
<<ALL guests should be treated equal and the rewards should be offered equal without favoritism among the masses >>
Sounds like socialism to me. The point of the YOMD is to make the visit extra-special. Every guest is treated as normal but once in a while a guest will be given something out of the ordinary. That isn't making the other guests second-class citizens. They still get the same experience for their park admission. |

| MagicalNezumi Sun 2/4/2007 4:33p | I don't think the "Dream Squad" program would work very well at TDR. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be successful, but it might suffer for the same reason the "Pin Trading" program was stopped. It would become quite chaotic and difficult for CM's and guess to handle. -- MagicalNezumi |

| leemac Sun 2/4/2007 4:40p | ^^ that is exactly why they opted out of it. :-)
At the moment they are looking at incorporating elements of it into the 25th but I suspect that will get dropped. Considering the fallout from the Stitch charms promotion last year OLC are trying to be a little more aware of guests' expectations. |

| MagicalNezumi Sun 2/4/2007 5:00p | ^^ Oh, the Stitch present campaign last year. That was the most blatant attempt to get guests to come back to the Park.
"Come back another day, buy another ticket, spend more than 1000 yen at one shop, wait until after 12pm, then get your little trinket."
Even I was saying, WTF?? (Excuse my language.) -- MagicalNezumi |

<<Not sure if you saw it last year SD but I'd scratch it from that list. It is not the best special event ever held>>
Have to agree with Leemac here.....wow, did I just SAY that?? ;D. Yeah, I liked the parade and all, but it was a bit TOO cutesy for me and the overall event, while fun, isn't worth coming all the way to Texas for alone ;).
Just a note: I WAS planning on coming to TDR next week actually, but I too but pushed that back because I want to wait for the changes to Sinbad so it's now Thailaaaaaand for me next week baby :D. Maybe in May or June I think :). |

Most definitely.
One year, they handed out little hard candies to all the kids for Halloween. There was so much negative guest response (why can't *I* get candy!!) that the next year they were forced to provide candy for all.
Ridiculous.
There was a fun thing they did in Orlando where the Jammitors handed out "Junior Jammitor" stickers to kids at the show. One of the Tokyo trash can groups suggested doing the same at DisneySea, and the producers said no because "many guests will complain if they see children wearing stickers that they can't get".
Thailand, huh? Why wasn't I informed (and invited!?)? |

Ah, but if I wait for Stitch!, then I also get to see the new Dreamlights and the new Sindbad. Maybe what you're telling me is that it's not worth waiting the extra two weeks for Stitch since Sindbad will be so good. |
