I have to wonder what will happen to the Dreams on Parade floats once the new parade comes in. Or has this already been stated? I would love to see this parade move to Orlando.

Lee obviously your annoucments for the 25th has caused a lot of talk through this site and other online forums. But someone brought up a good point about the Monsters Inc attraction opening in Dec 08.

Looking at the recent trends for attraction opeings at the Resorts it seems a bit odd why they would open the attraction in the middle of Christmas/New Year's season when they already have large crowds in the Parks.

Pooh's Hunny Hunt" (2000) opened the week school was back in session after summer break.

Buzz Lightyear" (2004) opened after spring break ended.

OLC are deliberately holding Monsters back as they are worried about attendance declining in '09. Ultimately WDI could still deliver the attraction for next April if required but at this time OLC is following the DLR model and holding back a major attraction for an anniversary year (ie. like Disneyland did with Space Mountain).

<<Buzz Lightyear" (2004) opened after spring break ended.>>

Yup but it opened on the birthday and the park was rammed as it was for several weeks afterwards.

That said I guess the date could slip to January but the issue with opening an attraction in the low season is that you don't give the CMs a chance to handle crowds for a lengthy period of time. Opening early December would alleviate that especially as TDL's December attendance is still driven by the Christmas events rather than any national holidays or true observance of holidays.

Lee, if OLC is worried about attendance decline in 2009, wouldn't it be better to open the attraction in 2009 instead of late 2008? That's why I can see OLC holding back the attraction opening to late or after the anniversary season.

I also agree that attendance is driven by the end-of-year holidays. So why overburden the CM's with an attraction opening during a crowded season? Why not let them handle relatively smaller crowds in the slow season and then watch those crowds increase when the next long weekend or holiday comes along?

While I don't doubt the schedule you posted, I find it odd OLC considering it.

What I don't understand is why OLC are not concern that its 25th Anniversary won't fail to pick up any attendance.Surely if Monsters could be ready if OLC chooses by April 08 it would make a better idea to have it ready so if the 25th does fail Monsters would be a great back up plan.Because at the mo apart from the Steven Davison parade which I expect big things from nothing else is at the moment is saying to me you must come and visit us for our 25th Anniversay.

We already have it's music so who knows?? But frankly... WDW would bit be able to run that parade with the required number of floats and performers seen at TDL.. They are too cheap for that.
