Do they even celebrate Halloween in Hong Kong?

My impression was that TDL sort of "brought" Halloween to Japan, since it was never there til 6-7 years ago and now it's everywhere.

I always wondered why they don't do Halloween stuff at DisneySea, but instead come up with lame stuff noone cares about. Obviously it's wildly popular in the other park, why not both?

Probably will in time, like the Christmas stuff since they add more every year.

I think TDS is too sophisticated for a Halloween celebration, which is meant for fun and the kids in all of us, which is really what TDL aims for in the first place. And Mr X, I would think you'd enjoy TDS' new fall event since it involves "chow chow". I know I would.

Food? That's always good (I always though they should TOTALLY copy the Epcot Food and Wine thing...it would work well at DisneySea I think)...

Too sophistocated for Halloween? Perhaps (I really hadn't considered that point). But it would certainly allow guests to move freely between the parks in costume, which...er.

Wow...just as I was writing that I realized how very right you are (YES, TDLFAN is right...you heard it here first folks!!)...

DisneySea would look terrible with all the costumes and such!

But still, it is SO popular over in TDL...

Hello? Obviously, you never attended TDS during their "Disney's Delicious Days" event a couple of years ago. Come to think of it... hardly anyone attended that event in the first place. This "A la Carte" event, if we can call it an event, is not something original at TDS.

And yes, I am always right. For the most part, and especially when it involves TDR.

As we bid farewell to Hong Kong's summer season, we look forward a few weeks to what will no doubt be a clash of the titans as Disneyland and Ocean Park go head-to-head with Halloween haunts. We also follow our Greenpeace story with a spectacular rant, and bring you the usual bullet-pointed madness that is This Week in Hong Kong Disneyland.

The Ocean Park/Disneyland battle should be solved with arm wrestling.

I was there. I didn't find any similarities to the Epcot festival whatsoever. Did you?

I was HOPING it would be similar, but frankly I just found it to be more restaurant promotion (nothing "festival like" that I noticed).

Come to think of it... NO, I didn't and that was a good thing. The last thing I want is for them to litter TDS with tacky temporary food stands all over the place where redneck drunks can find their laughing place. No siree.. I don't want that type of fun at majestic TDS.

It looks like everything is coming along nicely. I just wonder why every addition they do needs to be outside of the train track. When they were talking about the park, didn't they say something about a 'flexible' track that could be moved around new additions? It just seems like the way they are progressing right now they aren't paying much attention to traffic flow or future expansion. If each new attraction has its own private path under the train, then there will be a lot of dead ends. Even if there are paths connecting them on the other side of the track, it still makes the train take a lap around the center of the park, while there is a whole ring of attractions outside of it. I also know that they have what seems like plenty of room for expansion, but at the rate they're going, they will be out of space in about 15 years, which will be a huge problem for them. They can always open another park, but that will pretty much doom HKDL to becoming stale. I really hope that the next expansions that they do are more thought out than the Storybook Theatre and iasw appear to be.

"They" is too many people. Leemac said that and no one else as far as I am concerned.
