This will be a pretty on the money review I should imagine. The Mirror is a national paper in the UK (low brow in the main, but big advocates of Disney - they always seem to have the best Disney coverage in the mainstream british press).

UKFAN, hope everything pans out for you today. Look forward to hearing how it goes and your thoughts.

I can't wait to see this, but a part of me misses 90min - 2hr movies, with little ones, it means even when it is on DVD it will be hard to get that much spare time.

Another review here

It's spoilerific (so don't read it!), but the reviewer gives it 3 out of 5 saying it's overly complicated (nowhere near as bad as DMC) and over long (I couldn't disagree more - if anyone had told me that I'd spent nearly 3 hours watching the movie I wouldn't have believed them, had I not already known)

Of course my review is the only one anyone cares about, it's posted in it's own topic here in Live Action!!!

I'm noticing a lot of the early reviews saying it's complicated. Really it's that complicated? When you boil it down it's about Pirates doing their thing.

It is very complicated. I gave up trying to keep the plot line straight part-way through it, and decided to enjoy it just for the sake of "Pirates doing their thing" as you say.

So far, RottenTomatoes has it at a 'rotten' rating of 52%. Of course, Dead Man's Chest had only a 54% 'rotten' rating, and see how far that movie went! So, as big budget sequels go, it's looking promising for Capt Jack and his crew, even if the critics don't all agree!

I'll be very disappointed if it stays lower than DMC, as much as I enjoyed DMC, IMHO, this one is better.

It does suffer from having lots of loose ends to tie up, but I thought that this movie was less complicated than DMC!!!

Be careful of spoilers, especially in on-line blog reviews where the reviewers are not well-schooled in how to write around them. I have already seen two this morning that told me more about the plot development then I wanted to know.

And Jim Hill's no better with his review of a POTC book - I'm glad I'd seen it already!!!
