However I found Corrus to be extremly rude on various occasions not just to me but to other posters as well. He has this high and might attitude with people because at one point he was affiliated with Imagineering.
When he sees people complementing Lasseter or the new direction the company is going in he starts getting extremly unprofessional and tries his best to undercut the new management at the Walt Disney company. <<
Fair enough reply.
>> Yeah, and Hugo Chavez is highly respected by communists... So what? I hate to dog another website community, but the general tenor of dialogue over there is ... trite in the extreme. Considering WHO respects him... I don't think it helps his air of credibility. <<
It sounds like you have something personal going here also. Corrus was wrong I think about the Wand, and he can definetly have an abrasive type posting style, so what. Every Disney forum you go to you will find little clicks of people that ban together, and follow one or two leaders. Not so much like that here at Laughing Place, but pretty much every where else. There are some very knowledgeable people over at WDWMagic, and I'm glad to see a couple of them show up over here. |

Someone was basically saying "how can all of you people still question things, when Corrus and Lee have stated their opinion, and that should be the end of it!" As I said, I meant no disrespect to Corrus & Lee, as I don't have a clue who they are. But someone wanting to shut down discussion because some high and almighty insider has stated the facts for all time, well, that was just ludicrous! <<
I think you made your point very well without being rude in the least bit. I was really surprised that someone new to the site would make such a post until I saw who the poster was. Yes, some of those folks over there can be lead around by the nose, and some can try your patience to say the least, but it's still an excellent site with some really knowledgeable people. That is my own opinion.

You can't really be surprised. When you are dealing with a nearly fifty year old infrastructure base it is always going to be difficult. It is worth it. The frightening thing is the impact that this refreshment has on all of the other old structures in the park.
<<But I'm sure there's some Steve Davison project we can gush over in unison!>>
Well he has:
Mickey's Waterworks parade (very cool - great theme by Matthew Gerrard) Treasures on Parade at TDL (just huge) Wonderful World of Color Rivers of Light
Thats what happens when you are VP of Spectacles. You've got to manage all eleven parks.
<<And maybe you can shed some light on what Joe Rohde's up to these days if HKDL expansion is on hold.>>
Not sure what you have been told but Joe wasn't really on the POTC expansion for HKDL. He had been working up Shanghai Disneyland at that time. POTC was driven by Tom Morris and Tim Delaney in support. Huge shame but there will be other HKDL projects soon.
Joe isn't a corporate climber and just has a huge passion for his product. He is working up some DAK ideas as usual. Just trying to work out what should be next especially if the Disney's Nighttime Kingdom concept takes off.
On the wand front Tom Fitzgerald had been the driving force to get the thing down but Jay wanted the cost of removal to be built into the SSE refurbishment. Tom wasn't prepared to sacrifice any of the budget that Sue Bryan and Bob Zalk had been allocated so he pushed for it to be extraneous.
Epcot is very close to Tom's heart and that is why he has been able to get a lot of fixes into that park: China, Mexico, Canada etc. |

Well this explains everything.
Pretty much what I figured. |

| Skellington88 Fri 6/8/2007 10:11a | If Epcot is so very close to Tom's heart why has the place been on the decline for the past 10 years? Tom's 3 cabelleros ride is inferior in every way to the original and I thought the original was bad enough. |

Nope, nothing personal. I just think he pretends a lot and enjoys the adulation, and people there seem all to willing to offer it... which doesn't engender my respect. It feels like Nutrasweet over there. |

So what is going on with Canada? I keep hearing these rumors about a new movie going in this year, but does anyone have any more information?
And most importantly, will it still have the song? |
