I read your post because we were there also on that Saturday.
I logged on to reply because you had put a part in there about dvc.
I wanted to just say. We are straight. My wife and I bought dvc when we were married. Now it is 9 years later. It was the smartest thing we ever did.
We are straight and we bought before we had a child and didn't plan to necessarily, but now we have child.
So that may be different.
But I don't think it is really.
We have loved the dvc. It really has worked well for us and if we sold right now we would make cash on it.
So anyway I just posted because 1. we were at the gay days this year and thought it was great and 2. we bought dvc years ago and we love it and it worked well for us |

dear I57... you have to understand that Dennis has visited WDW countless upon countless of times, therefore, the parks are not something he would spend all of his time at. Equally, Gay Day events and festivities are occuring ALL OVER Orlando, not just WDW parks.. and what WDW is doing is minimal and only "private" like the Beach bash or Mighty Party and even those events will set you back $85 some per person, per event. Furthermore.. based on Dennis' comments, other gay-related acticities available in Orlando are not readily available to him and his partner at this hometown, within a short driving distance like they are in Orlando in relation to WDW. If you had seen (like I did) how much fun Dennis and his partner had on events off-WDW property, you would understand his excitement over this. It is the same excitement I want YOU to experience next year during Gay Days 08. So start saving your plane fare. |

Sat 6/16/2007 7:32a | Hey Inspector 57 - TDLFAN is right on with his observastions. We have visited WDW so much and still love to go back. Many visits have focused strictly on the park but GAY DAYS is different.
Here in CT we don't have an active gay cummunity. Remember in the 80's when EVERYONE went out and had fun? Well ... just as "video killed the radio star" I'd say that the "internet killed the night club experience".
When we go to Parliment House, the whole vibe is fanatastic. You really feel like part of a community again. It is a the best.
When you visit WDW, don't go for GAY DAYS as it will steal the thunder of those beautiful WDW parks. I totally get it.
And don't worry - the parks are looking good and I do like laugh floor. My expectations have been lowered to be a bit more realilistic - I think. I mean (no offense to TDLFAN) but If I see trash on the floor, it doesn't upset me as much. And everything can't be painted at the same time and all the bulbs can't be fixed at the same time. I know he will tell me differently - but I have let it go and made peace with the "upkeep".
I do have some issues with MK and how so much more can be done. I have given up expectations for that place (and some other parks) and just focus on what makes me happy - ANIMAL KINGDOM.

I am so happy to hear great DVC feedback. For years I couldn't believe this was a good deal. And now, it's all I can think about. After doing some reasearch and hearing from great people like you - I will buy in when I have saved up for the initial "buy-in." Everything I have read says DO NOT finance. I have been keeping my eye on the re-sellers websites as well.
DVC mailed me a beautiful book that goes over everything and a Saratoga Springs offer.
Hi TDLFAN - my buddy :)- you and GFAN are a big part of WHY we visit Orlando. You two are very good friends. Not fair weather friends at all - we can always count on you to be there even when times are tough. TDLFAN and GFAN are "good people" and a hoot to hang with!!!
