well it certainly is a different career from social work. Or is it extreme social work?

Glad everyone had a good time. I skimmed some of the posts so I don't know if this was mentioned or not but my brother, who was at the MGM party lamented about the fact that only Min and Bill's was open for food excpet for the cash bars. I was really surprised to hear that Disney missed an opportunity to sell more food/drinks.

Also during the weekend of all the events, I posted a little something on the Walt Dated World blog, saying that Disney World is open to EVERYONE, EVERYDAY and that everyone at the parks is united by their love of Disney and the theme parks in general. I got some very nice feedback on it, which made me feel good that my readers and tolerant and accepting.

Wow, Dennis, I am totally surprised that there are so few pools in Connecticut!

Er... trashing my original analogy, I'm surprised that <<Here in CT we don't have an active gay community. Remember in the 80's when EVERYONE went out and had fun? Well ... just as "video killed the radio star" I'd say that the "internet killed the night club experience".>>

Who would have thought that SE Michigan would have more "community" than CT?!

I guess I've been taking my surroundings for granted. In the little city I live in, there's a gay bar that hops every night of the week. During the day it's a restaurant that's neither straight nor gay -- nobody here gives it a label. Other bars here have big gay nights during the week. And 40 minutes away there are bars for every specialized taste. On any given night, choose anything from a basic bear bar to a "Dungeons and Drag Queens" party. Fortunately, we have more than bars. We have community centers, bookstores ("legitimate" and other), social groups, weekend events, festivals, etc. And... We don't have to go to any of those places to "be" gay. We can pretty much be as gay as we wanna be anywhere in town. Almost all shops have "gay friendly" stickers on the doors. If I'm reading a rainbow-strewn Metro Times magazine on a bus, it doesn't stop straight men from sitting next to me. Transgendered men shopping for clothes at Macy's here might get a few stares or snickers from some fellow shoppers, but the staff and most of the rest of the shoppers set a "yeah, what's to look at?" tone.

It's not perfect, but it is a very gay-positive atmosphere. Enough so that it meets my need for affirmation, I guess. So between (a)visiting a Disney Park and (b) being packed onto a hot dance floor with a thousand beautiful sweaty shirtless men, I'd *personally* choose The Park.

Unless I had a really nice outfit I needed to wear.

You are so well spoken my friend !

I am happy you live in an active community and we do miss that here in CT.

It is odd to think I have Civil Union rights with full blown marriage rights being fought and MI is still not working towards our civil rights.

I just gotta wonder...

How did that "Lady" know that those guys were porn stars? Cause, you know, if she recognized them...

She ain't no lady.

...and neither were the porn star!!

But honestly? It was a show with dancers. NO real porn stars. It was a comedic cabaret style show that was fun for what it was.
