<< can't wait until the Monorail is extended to McCarin and beyond. With all of the past screw-ups they had to endure it's great to see a (USA) Monorail system being put to good use.>>

If they price it right the monorail has a great future. I told my wife that the cost was $15 per day for an unlimited ride pass (which it had been the last time I was there). We decided that it was worth the extra money to minimize time in the heat so we decided to use the monorail anyway rather than "The Deuce".

When we got to the station we were totally shocked... they were offering all you can ride single day passes for $8. When you compare that to $5 for the equivalent pass on the Deuce, the monorail seemed darned good!! We were extremely satisfied with the service and would plan to use it on all future Vegas trips.

So... I think the future of the monorail depends on pricing it right. Obviously, $15 per day is too high. $8 per day is probably too low. I think the market would probably pay $10 per day and expect that is what they will finally arrive at.

The AC works on the Vegas monorails ... and they're clean too ... say unlike the WDW ones.

Exactly. If we could have a system like Vegas' which was designed to include the top tier spots of WDW with as miminal of a layout as possible I would be all for paying for it like in Vegas. The problem is they have a HUGE guest base who have been conditioned to consider everything as all-inclusive.

Well, folks want free this and free that. Free airport transporation, free dining. A monorail system like Vegas' is what we give up.

I will be giving it a second chance next year -- we are gong to spend some time with our best friends in Irvine, and they love Vegas. So we will be going, sans kids as they will stay behind in the OC and enjoy.....

Next year a big year -- 2 weeks in Cali and 4 weeks in Ireland/England -- 30th wedding anniversary ( taking QM2 to UK and really looking forward to that ) -
