My guess is they will only turn it over to group sales until they are ready to rebuild it with an updated BW and CC. It could take a while to come up with a new script and programing for BW & CC. Eli Lilly could sponsor the old BW and turn it into a hyper space trip around the planet colleting things for drug research. zap to the top of the rainforest canopy for a pretty flower that cures cancer. zap your 7 miles down in the ocean getting a glowing shrimp that helps nerve growth. Plus a new, modern take on health sciences and the future for the interior remod of the pavilion may take a while. So my guess is while it is in the redesign phase they want to utilize the massive space. |

On first glance I bought into the idea that the cabins might be sent out HKDL, maybe that will end up being the case. On the other hand those cabins are so old that they might go with something new for their next simulator installation. Which as things are going, shouldn't be that far off.\
But in terms of EPCOT, with Soarin' and M:S, I doubt you will see the Body Wars ride system return. |

Excellent point! How long has it been since the Odyssey building was used by daily guest. How about Millenium Village. What are they going to do with Fountainview? If you have a plan to improve the parks please implement it. Don't pi$$ down my back, and try to tell me it's raining! |

And to bring us back around to the original topic. With those three venues now being used for "special events" they need a 4th??!!??
The Marketing and Entertainment Dept. strike again. Their priorities continue to eclipse what should be offered under daytime operations. |

But it's all about $$$.
Have you ever seen a group like Siemens come in to the Beach Club for a week ... parties with bars on the beach, cruises for fireworks, dinners at Yachtsmen ... expense accounts for everything else?
Those are the kind of guests Disney favors nowadays.
Rest assured, they won't be noticing the laundry room door that has been rotting for years to the point that a 4-year-old's tap could put a hole in it ... they won't be noticing the filthy carpet in the hallways ... or the fact that no one has cleaned under the beds or behind the nighstand since the room was last renovated ... but all those $$$.
And Disney keeps attracting more and more of the convention business.
So kill a pavilion that you can turn into a special events dining hall?
Makes perfect sense to the people at TDO.

I guess I missed all the "special event" venues depicted by Herb Ryman. |
