Disney Team Receives IBM Innovation Award Jun 16, 2007
WDW Public Affairs - IBM recently honored a project team from Walt Disney World Resort for its innovative use of technology that simplified the check in and check out process for resort guests and allowed Cast Members more time to interact with them. Walt Disney World Resort was among six winners of the third annual IT Innovation Awards which recognized IBM software users for best-in-class, innovative uses of technology that deliver true benefits to their businesses.
The team of Walt Disney World Resort Operations and Information Technology professionals streamlined the existing software and modernized its application, dramatically reducing the number of steps needed to check in guests. "This way, our front desk Cast Members spend less time looking at their computer monitors and more time personally interacting with each guest," said Judy Kirby, Senior Analyst with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts IT Communications. "We're always striving to make each part of a Guest's stay more magical."
The IBM innovation awards showcase the achievements of clients who use IBM's "all-in-one" System i business computing platform to deliver IT innovation. |

| bobbelee9 Wed 6/20/2007 1:40p | ^^Sounds like a good parenting thing to me, wish I'd thought of it. One of my daughters wants to work there when she retires, she's only 39 now, doesn't do me any good. |

| CMDad Wed 6/20/2007 1:55p | Heck, I drove my daughter down to stay just 3 months after she graduated college.
My wife and I have always planned on moving to Orlando and working for Disney when we retire (not too long now - but not soon enough! <G>), but we just never expected our kids to be there before us!
(Well, my son was only there for a while ... he came back after his college program days! Well I only need one of them to have a discount. <G>) |
