Its great to read something that makes us take a step back and focus on the little details that made us fall in love with Disney to begin with. I look forward to reading more in the series |

I took a few Roman History classes as electives in college ( took Latin in HS - maybe that's why the interest) - and that scene has always been very poignant for me. |

Style-wise, it doesn't even look like the rest of the ride. But there's something hypnotic about watching it cycling over and over again.
One thing I hope they fix that has plagued the ride since Day One: the general creakiness of the ride mechanism. Any chance the ride has at seeming profound or moving always gets undermined for me because of this. |

| SFH Tue 7/10/2007 8:28p | I miss the original Spaceship Earth, with Walter Cronkite narrating and the dramatic crescendo of orchestral music when reaching the top and seeing the Earth as a "spaceship", and even the lyrical version of "Tomorrow's Child".
Ahhhh.
"For eons, our planet has drifted as a spaceship..."

If I had to pick 8 favorite...most of those would be on my list too. (I'm glad I'm not the only nutjob who gets excited about the chariot!) |
