My other favorite place to go (and a VERY inexpensive day trip for a family without a lot of money - like ours) - the museums at Exposition Park in Los Angeles. The science museum was on the top of my list - loved it! I think that's why Tomorrowland was my favorite Disneyland spot when I was a kid. The characters and animation are lovely... but DISNEYLAND is the be-all, end-all of Disney for me, too.
