| Bob Paris Tue 8/28/2007 9:25a | Yeah, really!!!!!
Personally, I am MUCH MORE excited about the proposed Universal "best of" park going into Singapore. Hell, they could have nuked Sentosa Island back to the stone age for all I cared about it, it was PATHETIC!!!!!! The fact that apparently now a Uni park is going there suddenly makes me REALLY excited!
I'd say this, more than anything will make the WDC want to suddenly give Honk Kong Stinkyland a MAJOR investment of capital!!!!!!! |

| WorldDisney Tue 8/28/2007 9:39a | Oh yeah, I agree if Universal Singapore is ANYTHING like Universal Studios Japan or IOA in Florida, I will be there as often as possible :).
It still amazes me how some people still turn their noses at Universal, but HAPPILY spend money at crappy parks like DCA, WDSP and etc. I don't get it? It's the Disney sheep mentality "it's only Disney or its nothing". USJ is simply one of the best well themed parks I been to and rivals ALL the latest crap that's been put out by Disney minus TDS of course ;). I been there twice thus far and I would love to get over there again (but the funds lately tell me I can't have it all ;D).
Did you know Universal is also supposedly striking a deal with Dubai to put one in Dubailand, there GIGANTIC theme resort that supposedly will be TWICE the size of WDW when its all done in 2016? Yeah, I already have my calender marked for that as well lol.
This is what Disney needs, COMPETITION!!!!!! I'm happy that Ocean Park in Hong Kong is doing better and better now, whatever it takes to make the morons at HKDL realize just because you are the new man on campus doesn't mean everyone is going to ignore the tried and true....especially for half the price ;).
I'm 100% with you about Sentosa Island lol. That is one of the sorriest excuses for a 'theme park' I ever seen. The fact they advertised it for the longest as the 'Disneyland of Singapore' nearly forces me to put inch my mouth to a toilet bowl!!! ;D
Even if Universal go the new Disney route and put in a half day park there, it will still be 100 times better than what is there now. |

Better wait until 2009 for the new Monsters Inc attraction to openthan as its the only new attraction thats scheduled to open in the next 18 months.By the way my copy of the LP Magazine arrived just as I was leaving for work today and I took it along with me to read and had time to read the piece on the new Monsters Inc attraction. It sounds like a incredible concept that is going to wow people when it opens,I can't wait! |

Just to clarify, there is no train station at the entrance to TDL, but a rather odd looking facade:

| TDR_Fan Tue 8/28/2007 4:27p | I think he meant the monorail station. |
16
| trekkeruss Tue 8/28/2007 4:30p | I thought he might mean that, but the hotel is being build behind the monorail station, yes? |

| TDR_Fan Tue 8/28/2007 4:38p | The monorail station will be in between the main entrance of Tokyo Disneyland and the hotel. |

Kazu might have something to say about that. ;) |

| trekkeruss Tue 8/28/2007 5:07p | That's what I thought... in front of the park, and behind the monorail station. |

| The Goddess Mara Tue 8/28/2007 6:50p | Urayasu is a crappy looking place. The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will completely block your view of the surrounding muck when you're standing on the monorail station. I think that's a good thing, but I wouldn't want to be one of the folks whose $500 a night rooms face away from the park. There's nothing pretty about Urayasu--it's gray and ugly.
At least the official hotels on the other side of the park have mostly ocean or park views. |
