My home this is! >:(
Granted, the surroundings of TDR ain't too pretty (though the Maihama homes are quite lovely and pricy actually), but Urayasu has many beautiful areas such as the very traditional downtown, and the hip and edgy "shin-urayasu" area which includes lots of upscale and fun things to do, not to mention the beautiful new surroundings down by the University where the Palm and Terrace are located, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

"grey"
"ugly"
And I suppose you live on a "sound of music" mountaintop with forever blue skies and bunny rabbits and an ocean view. >:( |

| The Goddess Mara Tue 8/28/2007 7:10p | Sorry if it's your home. While there may be attractive areas in Urayasu, and pricey homes, they are not visible from the Tokyo Disney Resort (at least I haven't seen them).
I live in Washington, D.C., so fire away if it pleases you. :) |

Lee has mentioned that not many rooms face away from the park due to the space in the back of the hotel being taken up by a convention center. I don't think the views from the front of the hotel will be fantastic either; a view of the monorail station and the roof of World Bazaar.

Not as ugly as the industrial filth next to Universal Studios Japan. |

Nah, I wouldn't do THAT.
I'm sure you hear plenty of fire from your bedroom window as it is! :D |

The rooms without the "TDL" view are going to be over-plussed with Disney touches so that guests won't be so distracted by the view. The hotel will also have enough height to give a pretty decent view park-side. |

Glad you enjoyed the article Malin. We were delighted to be given the exclusive on the Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek! attraction - no other publication will be given that access until late next year which is great for us. Having seen a lot of the attraction I'm pretty impressed by the level of detail and the attention to the gameplay. Little Rocky is going to be an instant winner for them! :-) |

I know it's not feasible, but perhaps adding stained glass windows in those rooms facing Urayasu would have helped solve the issue. It would have looked pretty (both inside and out) and prevented guests from looking at an unappealing sight. Kind of like what they did with the Cinderella Castle Suite in the Magic Kingdom. |

| leemac Wed 8/29/2007 3:02a | Why wouldn't that be feasible? I think the issue is that it is difficult to get natural light into rooms anyhow as it is often so grey so stained glass might just make it harder.
Disney are about to get into unique and customised rooms in a big way and I'm sure in the TDR market the opportunity to stay in rooms that are more uniquely decorated will be a huge hit. |

| Mr X Wed 8/29/2007 4:39a | Personally, I wouldn't like to be in a hotel room where I had no window to the outside world (even if the outside looked kinda ugly lol)...
Too confining, but that's just my humble opinion (I was INSISTANT on not having an "inside cabin" on my cruise for the very same reason, even though the package deal was very attractive)...gotta see the outside world...and being able to crack open a window is usually cool too (unless it's a highrise situation or whatever).
But if I could stay in the castle, yeah, I'd deal. :D |
