If Al Lutz is right, the original Tomorrowland in Tokyo Disneyland is about to go bye bye:

"An entire land remake for Tokyo's Tomorrowland also plays into the timing on this one, as some of the attraction concepts would be used in both Anaheim and Tokyo."

He's a biased bonehead, so he's wrong as often as he's right. BUT, has anyone else heard anything about this?

I wouldn't be surprised since Monsters, Inc. will probably stick out like a sore thumb in the current Tomorrowland. I have read that they are going for a more science fiction theme rather than futuristic.

I wouldn't call Al biased.

I mean, isn't DL a better place now than it was six years ago? All the things people are enjoying now, not to mention the things he says are coming are things he has been calling out to be done for years. Not saying that they happened/will happen because of him but certainly his past cries of faded paint and burnt out bulbs on Main Street are all things that have since been fixed.........and coincidentally are things he no longer criticizes the company for.

If he was STILL bagging the WDC for things that had been rectified three years ago THEN you could say he had a problem. Otherwise, I say he's been at least some kind of a force for good and change.

As for his writing style, it is something I have gotten used to after seven years of reading him at different sites. He is just one voice in a chorus of online Disney contributors. Personally, whether it's my nature or not, I prefer a slightly cynical take rather than the "Golly gee whiz, everything is WON-DER-FOOL!!!!" take found elsewhere.

Lutz is a bitter single man, obsessed with Paul Presler in an unhealthy way, who loves to publish photos of empty walkways at DCA as if to prove that no one's there. That's a lie, and biased reportage of the most devious sort. I could take those kinds of photos at ANY Disney park anywhere in the world if I wanted.

What does his being single have to do with anything? You say he is obsessed with Pressler. The fact that you know such an obscure fact about Lutz would seem to indicate more than a passing interest in the man, himself.

But anyway, back on topic......ANYTHING that could be done for DL's TL would be GREATLY appreciated. I was there a few years ago and it was a sorry shell of what it once was. Instead of the hyperkinetic "world of motion" it used to be, it was now more like a ghost town.

<<isn't DL a better place now than it was six years ago>>

Yes, but overall, the ups and downs of the parks have to do with management and leadership, not what anyone on the internet writes.

That fact that he's single plays into the discussion because he's disdainful of the rides added to parks for kids. He's one of those fellows who seems to consider the fact that there are a lot of kids at Disneyland an inconvenience. An absurd point of view, and it colors his reportage. I support critical reporting, but I disdain biased reporting.

As far as back on topic, Tokyo Disneyland's Tomorrowland ha:
six attractions,
a show,
an arcade,
five shops,
three restaurants,
two food counters,
two ODV carts.

How it can be called a shell of its former self I don't know.

Is anything not there that used to be aside from Meet the World and a Circlevision flick?

The Circlevision theater has since been turned into Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters, and Meet the World will soon become Monsters Inc.

A shell? I think not.

Of course TDL's TL is not a shell.

I, however stated "DL's" TL. Abbreviations aside, DL is NOT TDL.

And whether somebody is single or not and has kids or not(some single people have kids, you know), I think a lot of kids would tell you that Heimlich's Chew Chew Train is pretty lame and certainly not up to par with other "for kids" attractions at the parks. I think Lutz would welcome any kid-friendly attraction, as long as it was up to Disney standard.

Sorry, I misread your post.

Little kids love Heimlich's Chew Chew train and hip adults who listen to the audio tracks will something to appreciate. The ride that's worthless in Flik's Fun Faire are the bumper cars--to slow to be of interest to anyone who meets the height restriction! That's dumb.
