For someone who holds such harsh criticism of Mr Lutz you've seem to of read his article quick enough. Not seen it yet but will hopely get around to it soon.

As for Tomorrowland its become obvious for ages now that Disney and OLC are slowly changing the look of this land. And no doubt it will continue but its going to be a slow progression.

I always read things, whether I agree with them or not.

In Lutz's case, everyone admires his contacts inside WDI. Lasseter wants to squelch bugs like Lutz and some of his sources may find themselves out of a job as things tighten up.

**who loves to publish photos of empty walkways at DCA as if to prove that no one's there. That's a lie**

Unless it isn't.

I've got plenty of photos of empty Hong Kong Disneyland...does that make me a lonely angry butthole too?

**Yes, but overall, the ups and downs of the parks have to do with management and leadership, not what anyone on the internet writes.**

Don't be so quick to dismiss the power of the 'net.

I've seen it move the entire stock market on a whim.

In fact, the entire stock market system has changed significantly since the internet came around (for better or worse is yet to be known, but it IS a driving force).

Don't be so sure executives aren't reading this stuff, they most likely are VERY much aware of what's being said. If you think about it, they'd be stupid NOT to tap into the greatest source of "grassroots info" on the planet.

A well known CEO was recently caught PRETENDING to be someone else in order to pump his company and degrade his competetors on Yahoo.

Al Lutz just might have been a driving force in the changes at Disneyland, but we'll never know it (Disney will never say it).

He did piss me off at one point by stealing the words of a friend...but he appologized profusely and retracted the said statements (it was several paragraphs)...

I'd not discount the power of this grassroots guy...if the powers that be are NOT listening, it would be to their detriment. (of course, Disney execs are notoriously stupid and greedy though just like many other corporate stooges, so I'm sure they don't take the guys words as seriously as they SHOULD).

"Little kids love Heimlich's Chew Chew train and hip adults who listen to the audio tracks will something to appreciate."

The ride completely sucks.

Any little kids that like it are stupid, or perhaps understimulated at home.

And trying to say any adult could "appreciate" anything about this crappy little boring ride is *ADMIN*, so there! ;)

<<The Circlevision theater has since been turned into Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters, and Meet the World will soon become Monsters Inc. >>

Actually, Meet The World, the entire show building (literally) was demolished quite some time ago. Monsters Inc is being built on that space (and quite a bit more) but in an all-new building.

And I'm devestated about the proposed Tomorrowland redo for Tokyo. It's the very last Tomorrowland in the all-white "world on the move" motif. I will seriously cry if they change it. :(

Weren't there rumors a while back about TDL splitting Tomorrowland into two lands? A Hollywoodland that had the Monsters Inc., Star Tours, and Buzz rides, and then a small Tomorrowland section with the Rocket Jets, Space Mountain, and Autopia? Is this still a plan, or is it now going to be a whole land makeover?

X, I wasn't referring to Hong Kong Disneyland when I mentioned taking other photos of empty walkways.

I could take photos like that at either Tokyo park depending on the time of day--that's what is biased about them.

I could take them at Disneyland, or Disney World, or Disneyland Paris. It's very easy to manipulate people's impressions and opinions by selectively taking photographs and publishing them as Al Lutz has done with DCA. I've had friends who've seen those photos on the Internet, and then been shocked at how many people are actually at California Adventure when they go there.

I was aware that the Meet the World building had been demolished, but didn't feel it necessary to add that particular detail. My point (which is irrelevant since I misread the post I was responding to) was that Tokyo Disneyland's Tomorrowland is not a shell of its former self.

I like the retro look of it, but nothing is static in this world in the long run. It was really nice, for example, to be able to go on Tokyo Disneyland's Pirate ride and see what was essentially the original without many changes, including the pooped pirate and the girl in the barrel, the pirate on top of the barrels, and so on. But, it was bound to be changed at some point.

There is no point in lamenting what used to be there.

Enjoy what is now there.

Well, Mara, if that is true then he is manipulating things. BUT, I've heard tales from many about how empty DCA is much of the time.

I can't say for sure, because I'm not there much...the only time I WAS there was over a holiday weekend where the Cali passholder deals were ending, and it was mobbed (unfair comparison in any case).

Sure the parks are empty sometimes. I've seen DisneySea on days where you could should all the way down the street and be heard ONLY by the 30 or so castmembers standing vigilantly.

I've even (gasp) seen an empty Tokyo Disneyland, but ONLY in the nastiest winter months, early in the morning.

My point was more that he's trying to make a point. And, it seems to me, his points about Disneyland in decay were VERY valid, as I was seriously BUMMED visiting Disneyland back in 2000, but thought the place looked AMAZING when I visited again 2 years ago. Did it have anything to do with him? Well, probably not. But the point was, he wasn't just raving about "nothing"...there were obvious issues that any true Disney lover would be concerned about.

and p.s. I doubt you could take such photos at TDL unless you were VERY selective about the days you were visiting (like, bad weather days or maybe a day or two in the offseason, but the place is normally packed from open til close and I can say that for sure because I worked there...DisneySea, on the other hand...depends on the season but I've seen the place "totally dead" on plenty of occasions).
