I know there used to be a film in the Animation Bldg called the Walt Disney Story....its now gone.

I was wondering if anyone had a link to a copy of that film, maybe YouTube.....or something..i checked already, but figured i'd ask here as well..

I don't have a link but you might try Ebay or Amazon. I bought it as part of a set called The Studio Video Collection. I can't find a date of release on them. (Then again, my tapes are all still shrink-wrapped). They came in a purple cardboard slipcase box. The video tapes all say "Not for individual sale" on them. The set also included The Reluctant Dragon and Frank and Ollie. I'm sure with all the people out there who no longer care to hold onto their VHS tapes, you could probably find one for sale. Good luck!

The Walt Disney Story was a film that played at the Opera House in Disneyland. The film you want to find is One Man's Dream, produced for the centennial anniversary of Walt's birth.

The Walt Disney Story is not the film that was shown in the Animation Building. That film, made for the 100 Years of Magic "celebration", was called One Man's Dream, I believe. It is somewhat similar to the previous film, but made with updated technology. The Walt Disney Story film was once shown as a part of the Walt Disney Story exhibits, and for a time with subsequent exhibits in those spaces, on Main Street at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The film was released on VHS a few years back, which I have, and was released as a "100 Years of Magic" edition on DVD during the time of that celebration. The DVD has a few extras. You might find it on ebay, or check Amazon.com, as you might find a second party seller that has it. Good luck!

I have it on vhs, too. It's not the exact same presentation as was in the Opera House.

The film was divided on the screen into three sections. A right, left and middle. On the tape, you only see the middle section of the screen.

Yeah, I think the version on DVD that I have is a little different than the VHS one.

For anyone insterested, I looked on Amazon.com and both new and used VHS copies are available for as little as under $3.00 from section party sellers. Just do a VHS search under "The Walt Disney Story". No DVD copies came up, but, it's possible they could at some point.
