We keep hearing about big plans for DCA, and 1.2 billion dollars approved and this and that but when do we actually get to see construction begin to get underway? October?

Actually, while you will find some stuff closing in October and November, due to the Mickey's Halloween Treat and other schedules (such as Block Party Bash), the main stuff won't start until January 2008.

So if you are looking for bulldozers, its 2008.

But heck, they already closed one section of Disney Animation in the HPB section, with a new exhibit opening in October, so I guess its started, along with the Toy Story Mania! stuff.

<well Monsters Inc is scheduled to close soon for several months.>

Why? A re-design to 'Superstar Limo 2.0?'

The plans are to get a good portion of the work done near Toy Story Midway Mania before it opens. That is less than a year away.

I've heard rumours that it will be getting a new exterior. Any truth to that bean?

That would be welcome.

The facade right now is so "flat" - it's a real shame. The ride itself is nicely executed, with some fine touches, if overall unremarkable. But it's cheapened by the mundane facade and switchbacks. It screams "this is where we ran out of money".
