| Mr X Wed 9/12/2007 9:52p | **I'm pretty sure that each Disney resort has their respective groups of Imagineers designing projects.**
You'd be pretty wrong. ;)
I worked with a guy, in fact, who was working on ToT and at the same time heading over to HKDL to work on projects there.
He also did some design work for Test Track.
So, sorry Charlie, you don't know what you're talkin about on this one. ;)
Oh, and yes TDLFAN I totally fear and dread going to DisneyWorld for some reason that only you seem to fathom (it must be deep in my subconscious cause even *I* don't know about it).

| TDR_Fan Wed 9/12/2007 9:57p | That painted flat has never bothered me. I know they could have easily just created another tunnel, which leads me to believe that the painted flat was created for a reason. I had heard that they were trying to go for an artistic statement by creating a trompe l'oeil painting instead of an actual tunnel. |

| Mr X Wed 9/12/2007 10:20p | Um, guys...that's the wall you're talking about.
The wall.
Nothing to do with artistic statements, or no budget to dig a hole, or anything like that.
It's just that it's the wall (the outside one).
Changing that one little painting into some "better" effect would have involved changing the design and architecture of the whole mountain.
Over a wall.

| TDR_Fan Wed 9/12/2007 10:20p | Perhaps they thought the mural allowed them to convey more detail in the environment? We know they had the money and that they were told to spare no expense, so they must have thought it would work better than creating a fake alternate route. Either that, or it was not possible to dig any further into the rockwork of Mount Prometheus. |

So I guess the mural was there for a reason. Thanks for the explanation. I never knew that creating a tunnel would involve changing the whole structure of the volcano. Hardly worth it for an arguably better effect. |

I disagree. When one gets off the DL Pooh attraction and thinks, "EWWWWW! The effects and story line are much better in 'Alice In Wonderland,' which was designed and built 40 years prior to Pooh," I'd say Pooh's faults are extremely obvious.
