Yes, MM, you are pretty smart. I too can't believe what is happening out there in Southern CA right now. The only family I have left in CA is in San Jose so they aren't affected by this. My prayers go out to the ones that are.

Even though I completely enjoyed my flight to San Diego a couple of weeks ago, it was only 2 1/2 hours and 2 beers away. What's the time difference there? Your seasons are opposite of ours too, correct? I remember reading that somewhere.
TX, I am so glad to hear that family and friends of yours are not in harm's way. The pictures I have seen on the news are so unbelievable. I can't imagine 500,000 having to evacuate. Where the heck would you go? With several roads closed it must be difficult for some to get out. For those that will return to destroyed homes...well, I can't fathom it.
Glad you two saw fit to say the oath. We're not a bad lot, and our rules are quite simple to follow. Just don't slip up and say the "W" word around here. I did that once and was "flamed" mercilessly for it.
Speaking of "W", I've got 25 minutes to go and I'm out of here. I have GOT to winterize my pool tonight. Weatherman says that we're supposed to get below freezing tomorrow night. It's been a beautiful day today, so now's the time to get it done before it's too cold for me to offer to help DH. Tink...you get your pool done? Crud, weren't you still swimming a couple of weeks ago?

I pick up DD today and she tells me she had talked to HD today and that HD said it was HD's decision to send back the gifts. And it was my fault I am mad, because I didn't tell them I was going to pack stuff up while they went to the park the last day!!
HELLO we did have to check out and I guess she figured I should have sat there all morning waiting for them to come back from having fun in the parks then try and pack when they didn't even get back to the hotel until 10:59 with an 11 checkout time!!
Now we all know that isn't even what aggravated me about the whole trip...My DD doesn't know really anything about why I made the decision about this friendship with HER other than me being upset over missing AGS with DD. Frankly DD is 9 and shouldn't be included in these topics or problems - she should be busy being a little girl and having fun - not being told adult issues!! That is what I explained to DD when she told me what HD said. I also told DD I had absolutely no problem with DD being friends with HD at school and what was going on was between HER and me (again)... We will see how things go from here.
HER seems to think HD should be her complete confidant and includes her in way too many issues not appropriate for a young girl - HER was suppose to marry some young guy last summer - she started planning the wedding near the end of the 06 summer and included HD in all of it from the very start of the relationship all the while still living with HD father and having HD keep it a secret from him...all while she was just 8 years old!! HER seems to forget the age of HD - we found some pictures HD was posing in and while in DL she was doing the same pose - she looked like a miniature Anna Nicole Smith or Jessica Rabbit with her chest and behind sticking out!!! She looked like she was 25 not 9 (that comment was from DS18) it is really sad that she is not allowed to just be a little girl!!

TX my DH is a fan of Texas since he lived there for a short time in his younger days. (he's a longhorns fan) He often talks about moving back to Texas or the midwest. I want to move to DL.
MM I agree that those fires that are destroying peoples homes is awful. I will keep those families in my prayers. I read this morning that there is a Santa Clarita fire and Magic Mt. was in danger. My DH not being a fan of Magic Mt. said if it burns maybe Disney can buy it and make another type of DL park.
Villians you are so correct not to include your DD. Because HD is being involved with this I am sure she will continue trying to inform your DD of the garbage HER is saying to HD. Since SHE is confiding in HD I wonder if HD is aware of the big picture. SHE still owes you money. Not to mention the lack of respect and integrity.
On a good note I have booked my trip. Yipee! 32 days and 10 hours. |

I am MerryMouseWife (duh, y'all can read my name! lol) and I have been married to my sweetie DH for nearly 21 years. We have 3 DDs, 17, 15, and 13. The oldest DD is a senior and will be graduating and heading to ASU or UofA in the fall. Ackk! Soon to have another driver in the family. Double Ackkk! Third DD is a dancer who wants to be either a dancer, a CSI officer, or a fashion designer. Hey, she is 13.
We live in AZ, 2 steps from He!!, in Scottsdale, but not North Scottsdale. I am a medical transcriptionist, but hardly ever w**k. I am whispering it very quietly. Don't want to upset the apple cart my first visit from lurkdom.
DH and I have a trip planned to celebrate our 20th anniversary that was last February. We will be at DL November 27-29.
I am happy to meet you all.
Villians, just tell your DD that she just needs to trust you with regard to HER and HD.
MM I was mistaken for being my own children's grandmother when I was 37 because I had salt-and-pepper hair. I started coloring it the next day. Good for you for looking like their mom!
Everyone else, it has been a quite long day and I am going to sit with my DH for a little bit before he has to leave for a meeting at church.

Tue 10/23/2007 8:09p | good evening or good night wherever you may be in the world! i'm really late tonight! my husband has this brainiac idea that he would like to retire. my gosh, he's only 56! he pretty much drug me to a financial planner tonight. it was our 4th meeting. all info i don't really care to think about. give me something much more important-like planning a dl vacation! the oath is good. i said it standing in front of my 30th year dl birthday party poster. and surrounded by all my planning papers for my vacation 2008. i am in the nursing field and am an ibclc. anybody have a clue what that is? i'm not telling, but i bet you can up with some pretty nifty meanings for those initials. the tv news just came on. how horrible for the fire victims. is there an end in site? at least i know when the tornados are coming and can hide in the basement. we blew away once when we were first married and lived in an apartment. it was bad, but not overwhelmingly devastating at least for us. god bless all of those in the fire areas and the firefighters trying to protect them. hey, is anybody else going to be at dl 7.28.08 through 8.2.08? |

Oh, I'm so excited about all of our new members! I can't even believe it! I am going to get a chart started to keep all of our newbies straight. MM will have it down right away and start yelling at me for not being able to keep up. I want to show off.
MerryMousewife, MMW, for short, You are going to be there the same time that Mater, Villains and I are ! O~M~G!!! MM is going to be fuming tomorrow! Your story about being asked accused of being your DD's grandma reminded me of a story involving my DH. He was playing in the ocean with my youngest DS when he was 2. A little kid came up and said how cute DS was. Then the kid asked DH "Are you his father or his grandfather." Oh, I about died laughing. I'm sure I wouldn't have been laughing if they asked me. (But, then he's 10 years older than me. So they'd better not!)
Villains story is getting more and more bizarre. I was reading it with my jaw dropped down to my chest. I want to hear more about the wedding planning from the first date. And asking your 8 year old DD to keep it a secret. How crazy is that? I guess it fell through.
Mater, where are you staying? (I didn't realize your trip wasn't booked yet. Don't tell MM that, though. She'll accuse me of not paying attn. again.) |
